Being Human Feature with cast interviews | SFX Magazine Issue 231

Back in December after they published their feature on the new Being Human Series 5 synopsis, we asked SFX Magazine when their Being Human series 5 feature would be published. They told us it will be available to buy 9 January, Issue 231.

I have a feeling this one is going to be epic (and possibly spoilery) and cannot wait!

I've just seen on Twitter that some lucky people who get their magazne posted to them have got their copy already! I've not seen any scans yet, but I gather that is is a rather spoiler-filled issue.

Just to further confirm that the SFX featire will contain BIG spoilers, so for those who wish to avoid them you may wish to avoid this topic.

If anyone replies to this topic with spoilers, please use the spoiler tags, which are available in the tool bar at the top of the posting area when you use the 'reply' option. (not available in 'quick reply')

I am REALLY excited about this article......I have heard rumours today as to what it Might involve and it does sound extremely spoilery!

I love spoilers so I can't wait, but obviously it is a bit weird that we don't even have an air date but we know a lot of what's gonna happen this year! Xxx

I am kinda resigned to the fact that if there are spoilers I will read them. And labelling them is just a red rag to a bull! I'll have to see if I can control myself, but i expect the excitement will get the better of me.

It is a tricky one because we are all obviously so excited for news on the new series, but it feels to me that there is a way of fuelling that excitement without giving massive spoilers, we're easily pleased - a snippet here a snippet there, a re hash of things we already know, maybe a new pic, and if there are spoilers maybe they should come from the official BH camp!

Working in the magazine industry I am jealous of how these SciFi magazines get advance spoilers & information. I guess that's their reward for going on a press trip to Wales! :D I'm still annoyed that no one from our office went - yet the writers were given a invitation. I wish they shared my passion for Being Human - then I could be hoarding spoilers (but, yes, I know, Domino, not on here of course) biggrin

In a way though they sort of are from the BH camp....from what I can see lord Toby has had a bit input and the magazine must have been given permission from the being human folks to publish it....it's just shocking how much we know about this year. I feel like this is just the tip of the iceberg and the series is gonna be jam packed with excitement :) x

Hi Laura, I can imagine how frustrating it must be, really wish that someone in your camp was there at the interviews! fingers crossed for something this year?

Many of you who visited filming in the summer already have lots of spoilers under your belts (and some of you are only going to be IN IT! so excited for that!) So it must feel different to you guys when spoielrs are published now. I am really looking forward to all your pics and stories that you could not share with us before because of spoilers!

I do and I don't, does anyone know what I mean ??? !!! It does seem strange magazines are allowed to put stuff out that has not been by the official channels or maybe there grateful for publicity!!!

I know exactly what you mean, halgal. I have been avidly following all things 'the hobbit' over the last couple of years and was almost as excited about seeing the film as I am about being human. I didn't think there could be any spoilers because I know the book so well......but I hadn't realized I'd seen so much footage! Watching the film was a bit like joining up the dots. I still loved it, but I'd really like it to have all been fresh (not sure if that makes sense?). So I think I'm going to do my best to avoid this!

I have now seen the new Being Human SFX feature, it is a large 4/5 page article, with 3 new pictures of Damien / Hal, but with costumes we have already seen so no spoilers there.

There are quotes from the cast -Damien, Kate and Phil Davis Davis rather than interviews. In all it is an exciting, well written piece, and the are pics are wonderful! However there is a rather big spoiler about one of the characters (not Hal) which to me seems unnecessary when things could easily have remained more ambiguous and stll be just as exciting - I did skim read that part though so there may be even more. there is also an episode guide that I deliberately didn't read, I prefer to let the story unfold, not have it presented to me in advance.

Hopefully this will help people decide on whether they want to get the mag and or continue in this topic, but there are not really and Hal spoilers anyway and as we are a Damien forum, not really any reason to discuss the big one here!

[on Phil Davis' character, Captain Hatch and the final ep of series 5]


" I see Phil's character as the puppetmaster....he's sending things our way, to try and bring his plan to fruition. So there are several enemies, but he's the big bad that controls everything."

"I think this is much more terrifying [than the explosion at end of series 4] because his power is so gentle and the effect of it is so catastrophic - that's the only word to describe it. I've wanted to film scenes like that since I was eleven years old. When I read episode 6 I said to Toby 'I can't believe I have had the opportunity to be part of something like this', because that episode is such a belter. It's television on an epic scale."

I think I've decided I need to buy this.  At the moment I'm intending not to read it until s5 has at least begun.....I just want to own it!  Whether I manage to resist or not remains to be seen.  I'm ashamed to say I think it's unlikely.....

haha! the pictures are wonderful Katy! the costumes / uniform are not new to us now but it is great to see different pics.

Fifi, I successfully managed to not read the episode guide fully, I may do nearer the time. But even if you just get the magazine to enjoy the pics for now, I would recommend it. Honestly, it feels like the Being Human S5 dvd synopsis gave us a bigger spoiler, Hal wise anyway!

I was finally able to download it and enjoy the whole article and pics.  Mostly the pics, as you say most of the article is a big spoiler about another character, and I was mostly interested in our supernatural trio, Hal in particular of course!  I'm not too disappointed that they revealed what they did because it sounds like it will come out within the first Episode, but I was surprised they provided an episode guide.  I think a trailer(s) would have been a much more effective way of "teasing".

 

That said, it's all so exciting!!!  Soon, soon, soon.

I've just bought my copy.  I flipped through it in the shop.....got as far as the pic at the bottom of page 68 and decided I was buying it!  Had to bite my lip all the way back to the carpark to hide the silly grin!!  Had another good look when I got home, but haven't read a thing (well done me!) and I've now hidden it away.
