My grandson's band are playing at the Isle of Wight Festival next week. They secured two spots, one on the Thursday evening and one on Saturday evening, when they are headlining! They are playing on the Bandstand from 9.40 to 10.30!

Here is a very loud, very fast clip from YouTube. Thomas is the drummer! The band is called Naked Fridays.

My husband is a massive Arctic Monkey's fan so he's looking forward to the album release in September and loved their Glastonbury performance this year.

My favourite song of the moment is Imagine Dragons 'Radioactive'.

I'm catching up with all the Glastonbury coverage. I loved Haim, the Californian girl group and Foal. What was the name of their song that the BBC used as their Glastonbury theme tun?
Of course I enjoyed Vampire Weekend too, but cringed at their interview with the BBC3 presenters. It was so bad! No rapport at all. One of the presenters, Gemma, was the same DJ who did the interview with Damien and Kate on Radio 1. She's not one of my fave's.

I tried to get into Foal, but just couldn't! Loved Chase and Status, i have eclectic taste so some of the more dancey acts spoke to me. dancing

Rolling Stones made me cringe I know they are LEGENDS but the gig was......hard to watch! (very sorry die hard stones fans)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought The Rolling Stones were rubbish! The sound quality was awful and there was no charisma as far as I could see.

Don't get me wrong, some of their music is brilliant, just thought the Glastonbury concert was dull (Mumford and Sons were better in my view).

My grandson saw Arctic Monkeys a while back. He recently saw Biffy Clyro and said that he prefers them as he has "grown out of the AMs"! He still thinks they are good but his taste is changing. He is 19 in September!

My sister and I are going to see Joe McElderry today.   We are off on the coach from Southampton to Bournemouth at 12.45 after the ferry journey from Cowes!  We are staying at the Travelodge in Bournemouth as we cannot get back to the Island the same evening!

I expected to watch The Stones - I know that if I'd been there that's what I'd have been doing.  But 'cos I was at home I ended up channel flicking, and watched Chase and Status - loved it!  Was home alone so I did a bit of jumping around, but tended to flick over in the slower tunes to see what The Stones were doing.  What I saw didn't impress....but I'm sure it was good to be there!

Would like to have seen Artic Monkeys but, although I like Mumford and Sons, I'm not at all fussed about seeing them live....I like to dip in, a whole set is more than I need!

Think my 'wish I was there' moment came with Primal Scream though.  Can't think of a better way to spend an afternoon at Glastonbury than laying on the grass listening to Primal Scream......happy memories!

Have fun at the concert Pearl. I have good memories of concerts in Bournemouth, in particular a Boyzone one from 15 years ago! (Just realised how long ago that was!!!)

Im a bit of a hippie because i love the 70's. Led zeppelin is one of my favorite bands, but at the moment im am listening to the very classic Frank Sinatra.

There is nothing quite like a bit of classic Frank Sinatra, and I am also a bit of a hippy but less on the rock side, more of the actual hippy side! lol!

Apologies for being so predictable with this, but it has properly grown on me and whilst I still haven't worked out why they've shot the first verse of the video like this, it's not as bad as it could have been (I remember some pretty shoddy WL videos!)

Instead of listening to music I'm listening to my teachers give lectures. Wether its on the noelithic revolution or on Algebra 2. I listen none the less. Who knows I might just learn something new. Doubt it.dead.gif

Algebra 2? *gouges eyes out* I am so sorry. That is one of my least favorite subjects ever. Oddly enough however I don't mind chemistry or statistics. Weird, I know. Anyway! I digress... I am now back in school which means that I will be transitioning from my normal brand of music (my favorite genre is rock/classic rock) to more easier listening tunes. I am one of those people that need some sort of background noise whilst studying otherwise I go bonkers. I've got on my playlist some Mumford & Sons, KT Tunstall, Lindsey Stirling...and I really love instrumental Celtic music. That's what I'll be groovin' to...who am I kidding, that is what I will be listening to to keep me from crying over my anatomy & physiology texts.

Yea I always listen to music while doing my homework it's just easier that way. I am actually taking chemistry right now and I love but then again I have always loved science.

I had the pleasure of seeing Covenant live a few months back.  It was a really good show.

My husband loves both the Arctic Monkeys and Biffy Clyro. He's hoping for coverage of the Isle of Wight festival in June on television sometime because three of his all time favourite bands are performing: Biffy, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Kings of Leon. I think Sky Arts 1 show highlights, traditionally.

My 13 year old daughter is developing her own taste in music. It used to be dub-step, still is (she adores Skrillex), but she's delving into the emo catalogue now, with Fall Out Boy, Panic! At the Disco, Skillet and My Chemical Romance. I've just had a sneaky listen to Skillet and they're okay (i'd better not tell my daughter, mum's aren't supposed to get their daughter's taste in music wink )

I still love The Black Keys and their new album is out next week, iTunes have been streaming it today and i had a listen and i really like it but don't love it just yet.

I'm currently enamoured with Royal Blood at the moment, two tracks especially but Little Monster is the favourite one. I hope they have an album out soon though my husband says apparently they don't even have a record deal! This one is definitely on my writing list. Their other track is called 'Come on Over'.
