"One Gentle Thing"

Every day I sit and stare
While he is tied up in that chair
He growls, he spits, he starts to swear
'Til he remembers that I'm there.

"I'm very sorry" I hear him say
But I just nod and turn away
This looks to be another day
When I wish that I could fade away.

But then I look into his eyes
He sees my fear and then he cries
He says sorry for all his lies
My fear of him then quickly dies.

He has been cruel, I am not blind
He wants to leave that man behind
Erase his past and press rewind
To become more human, be more kind.

If we can show him that we care
That Tom and I will be right there
To save our friend from this nightmare
Release him from that fucking chair.
