This topic is for discussion on the Being Human Series 5 dvd extras, including the exclusive scene and the deleted scenes.
**** This content is obviously new and comments here will contain spoilers ***
We do not wish in any way to spoil anything for those who have not seen this content. But for those of us who have, we need a place to talk to each other about it and that is what this topic is for.
Just working my way through the deleted scenes, it's a shame most of them were cut But it's official I think I actually like Crumb& Alan is some of theses seconds #Shock
Loved the cast interviews, Polly Buckle seems like another fangirl doesn't she
Spoiler
And the fact Toby says Being Human now belongs to the fans
& "It's a comma, not a full stop" *wipes tear from eye*
As for the exclusive scene - I'm still speechless
--Update
Just seen the scene you mentioned....why wasn't that kept in?!

Hi LouLou! So glad someone else has seen the extras!
WOW indeed!
there is quite a bit of new content on the dvd, cannot believe the deleted scenes were, well, deletled! one in particular that seems way too crucial to exclude.
Spoiler
Crumb tricking Hal into drnking blood and Alex almost staking him? hello?
Fingers crossed Lau, but the dvd does cover europe and it is well worth getting for all the extras as well as the episodes. ('tis best to avoid this topic if you want to avoid spoilers!)

Exactly...seems like it would have made a massive difference to both Alex and Hal's character arcs and added a something to the storyline of all those characters and their relationships with each other!
Spoiler
what did Toby mean by that? I am not taking it literally...

Not yet but I did read the spoiler, so presumed that it was Toby Whithouse who wrote it.
I've seen it!!! Mine arrived yesterday but I've had to wait until the early hours this morning to see it!!! It wasn't the end I wanted but it was the perfect end for Being Human I've watched damos interview but not the others yet!!! Agree about the delete scenes, that one in particular. Bit important for Hal and Alex and also Crumb!! Bit sad there were no press up out takes in this one though

Lol! agree HalGal! but we did get wooed in Paris and Hex Club..to watch over and over forever! But where was the bloopers and gag reel?
I was expecting to feel so much darker inside after the exclusive additional scene. but I find myself not!
Jennster, oh no! it maybe wise not to enter this topic then! we labelled it spoilers for that reason!
Deadpool, as you can see we are not being all that specific about what happens in the extra scene yet maybe....when the dvd is out and more people have seen it?
Toby did say the exclusive scene will give a more definitive ending. I can see why the extra scene though.... it has to be a Being Human ending, and for me this dvd scene gives us just that. I was dreading it in all honesty and have been most surprised at my reaction, maybe it is because we have had time to dwell on the possibilities left at the end of series 5...I was expecting to feel hopeless but I actually feel hopeful?
Well, one of the questions I asked on his Q&A at the blog was what his favourite scenes were in S5 and he didn't answer my question and now i know why, because they're in the interview (though, to specify, not in reply to my actual question...). And it made me sad all over again on his behalf because it was his first acting job out of drama college and he was received so well in it (and was so good at it!) and that he won't be in that situation, in that show again and also on my behalf because this exciting, innovative show will not be back with new episodes. So while it was lovely seeing a new interview, i was sad too.

My DVD finally arrived at 1.30pm this afternoon (as those of you who follow me on Twitter can testify, i wasn't amused) so i've only really had time to watch the extra scene, the deleted scenes and Damien's interview. Family committments have so far prevented me investigating further.
But...that extra scene was perfect, just right and yes, more definitive. And please, i'm going to be shallow (and i know you're all stunned speechless by that revelation) but how hot did Damien look in that suit...? (answer= very! )
I enjoyed the deleted scenes and yet again i wondered at the existence of Alan, just what was his purpose and how did he move the story along apart from being Crumb's side kick. Plus the actor was more wooden than a forest full of trees (sorry but he was)
My favourite deleted scene is the one alluded to...and two words...shouty Hal. And one part of it made me seriously squeak in an unashamedly fangirl way. Why wasn't it kept in???
I hope to find the time over the week to catch up with the rest of the extras, my kids are on their final week of school holiday so it may be difficult.
yay! glad you finally got it Lisa, and those were my first viewings on it too!
First, yes, suit thud and although it was all 3 of the main cast, Hal was, as always, centre stage.
Deleted scene...... the one we are all talking about contains two of my new favourite Hal quotes!!!! they are both in quick succession to each other and I bet you can guess what they are! *squeak*
Alan, well I think it is a shame those scenes were excluded because then we would have seen more of the comic duo in action. (i loved the geeky Alan/ Crumb 'Traveller' role play scene on the beach in series 5, maybe because i used to play it myself, the only girl who did at that!) I think he also served to highlight how corrupt Rook had come over the years and the unhinged lengths he went to to advance his agenda.

aaaah you're making me so curious!!
Anyway, I've seen the extra scene, and tbh it was exactly what I wanted.
Spoiler
I didn't want them to actually have become human because I find it cheesy and idk, it just doesn't seem right for some reason (maybe one reason is that, like some people (on tumblr) have pointed out, the show was about the characters trying to be human despite their supernatural conditions and making them actually become human ignores all that). But one thing did confuse me, at the end Hal says to the question what they're going to do next: 'You know, the usual, trying to save the world' (or something like that, I've seen the scene only once) and some people thought he meant that they were going back to being supernaturals in the real world and trying to defeat the devil for real, but I don't see how they can come back? Idk, I think that they're trapped in the dream world because it isn't a 'dream' world in the way that they can wake up from it. Anyway, I have to wait to see the deleted scenes until someone puts them on youtube because I really don't see how I can get the dvd here in the Netherlands... The only possibility is that I order it from Amazon and I'm really not comfortable with that...

"And Tom is feeding me lots of banana, which Damien hates and Hal also hates"
It's just so special hearing an actors own take on their character and character arc, especially Damien on Hal, utterly fascinating to hear those insights on a cherished character from the man who brought him 'to life' and an honour. I would love to hear more about the post rehab part of his research, what that involved, how closely to the scenes.
Both Damien and Michael mentioned the fight scenes in their interviews, they were fab in this series and cool to know that Damien did indeed did his own stunt when he flew on to the table!
Agree Lisa, such a bitter sweet experience, my heart hurt when Damien said how sad that he would never work with this cast and crew again with whom there is this amazing bond. I'd like to say never say never....
I thought it was poignant to have the antique trunk and the unmounted Honolulu Heights sign behind him too
Just received my DVD half hour ago and all I can say about the exclusive scene is WOW it just gives a whole new take on the ending. I loved the deleted scene of Hal shouting at crumb and alan it was hilarious. Havent seen the interviews yet but my plan for the rest of the day is to rewatch series 5 and all the other extras :)
