Oh, yes, he was really brilliant. I think it'S hard for children to play this. I also thought, that the blood might have sth to do wth the crime (accident or sth), and that it wasn't his blood. And I have to say, I really hate these crimes, where children are involved accidently or nnot...

Agree about Jack acting differently around Martha, more submissive. It does feel at times he looked at her exasperated, like he wanted to jump into the questioning a bit more heavy handed. When she tells Toby think about what we've talked about, have a chat with grandma... then she calls to Jack to come. He seemed to want to pursue it right then not wait.

That corridor chat about the blood splatter bugs me though. Martha seemed too "inexperienced" in her comments, I don't like it when she phrases things in questions, like she's asking what the procedure should be. And it was one of the times it felt like the actors weren't sure what to say.

was that our first corridor shot with Jack leaning on his wall? I did have a shallow moment there.
still I cringe when I watch that scene. I did feel he should have said more.

my experience of it changes with each watch...Martha sems more compassionate at this point about the difficulty in getting a 'juvenile' to open up.. her maternal side comes to the fore in this ep a bit i think... Jack is just very cut and dried sure Toby is lying about the nosebleed
But that's why you have a team so everyone can help with the investigation and put their two cents in. I didn't feel like she was being less boss like by asking questions.
