Charlie makes the arrest but Jack uses the cuffs threat again...
"we will cuff you if you do not go willingly".

I knew the doctor didn't do it because that would be too simplistic for this show, but I was taken aback at how haughty and testy she was while being interviewed.

Does jack offer to let Charlie make the female arrests?  Why is that?  Is he being sexist or protective or thinking about the comfort level of the female suspects or what?

"No absolutely not, you stay where you are"

The tone he uses in this line is just perfect.

not sure Jane, but we know there were police officers and advisers for all filming so perhaps these are all procedure?

That's the Jack Weston trademark sass.

I don't know, I just respect the law and I know it's useless if somebody is arresting you to tell that you are innocent, I know whole progress will be over more quickly if you just come along. Then after that you can complain about false arrest. It just seemed to me more like "I can get out of this trouble and arrest if I tell them I'm busy and working and I can't leave"

I was about to post the same line Ithaca.... it is back to simmering jack during the Dr Stadnish interview... offering her a cup of tea.. then

"Am I free to leave now?

"No absolutely not, you stay where you are", with a tap of his notebook.... incredible hallmark DaMo nuanced delivery

So I was thinking it was typical guilty talk.

Jane, he may be giving Charlie the arrests he thinks will make her more comfortable with the process.

Which could either be sexist, unconsciously, or being a decent supervisor.

How come Jack is always so polite first and then he strikes?
Sassy Jack.

That's my thinking Ithaca.  I'm not sure whether he's being  supervisory or sexist.

"No absolutely not, you stay where you are" - Really loved this line. Pure Jack sass again.

I wasn't really sure why the doctor reacted like that. I mean I get that she didn't want anyone to know about her involvement in all that, but why would she react that way if she's innocent. That's why I wasn't sure at first, if she's guilty or not.

Good point there Ithaca, I personally think it's nothing sexist. Was this second time in this ep when he offers her to do the arrest?

HLH and Jozie, for me if you are innocent of something and dragged into a police station, it seems more natural to be annoyed. I am more suspicious if someone is meek and complicit and helpful.

But in the whole 5 episodes I don't remember him ever offering her to arrest a male suspect.   Am I overlooking one?

Dr. Standish's attitude is just how she is. She is successful and is likely unused to her actions being questioned.

That's right HLH, why act like guilty if you are not? Or was she thinking that she is too important because of her job? I don't know, but she got my eye for sure after that arrest and interview.

I can kind of see it when she is being arrested.  She'd kind of be like "WTF? Are you serious", but then when she continued to be belligerent in the interview I was kind of taken aback.

Charlie talks to Martha in her office, she has spoken to Jess's former employer at the beauty salon 'Clearly Gorgeous' where she did Botox treatments etc, Martha points out she knows how to use a needle. the money she earns on the side is not enough to account for the injections of cash in their bank account. Jack comes in

Jack "Were you guys talking about me? I heard 'clearly gorgeous' "

Martha "oh.. clearly deluded"

Jack "Ok, thank you"

Jack informs Martha that the the team have looked at Terence's computer and found an email from his solicitor giving details of the will, which had been forwarded on to Matt Holland. So contrary to what Jess had told Charlie, they did know they were beneficiaries. Martha asks that they get hold of Matt again.
