Remember the official synopsis for Suspects? There is one storyline (highlighted in bold) that we are yet to see, so this must be one of the episodes in Series 2?!

Set in London, each episode is a self-contained story, starting with a news report, then following the team of three detectives as they investigate the circumstances the crime. The cases themselves are hard-hitting with contemporary themes, such as the search for a soldier with PTSD, a murder that has been made to look like an assisted suicide and the gang rape of a young teenager.

Domino, I believe that's the one they showed for "next time" after Ep 5.

maybe whimsy! the 5 remaining episodes will def include it, so perhaps that will be our very next storyline!

The show didn't pull any punches with its storylines in Series 1 did it... incredibly sensitive subject matter. But even though it was harrowing and the subject is dark, the show is entertaining and galvanising, my engagement never waned because the momentum is constant as the story unravels... the 'whodunnit' aspect, the suspects we are presented with, watching the detectives.... this show is only in its infancy but already it is a quality drama right off the bat... usually takes a while for a show to get in its stride but the format in Suspects just works on so many levels. I am excited for a growing audience to discover it!

Finally seen the 5* advert /trailer with my very own eyes earlier this evening, and very nice it is too... lots of lovely quotes from all the fab reviews for the show. There is still no official confirmation yet that this trailer is for repeats of Series 1, but it is fairly safe to assume that I think. Series 2 will be shown on Channel 5 not 5*.

Oooh this is good, they start to show old ones to refresh people minds about this show and then start to show new series!dancing

Only things that bothered me in this story was that typo "Faye Ripley" and no mention about Damien or Clareconfusebiggrin

Jozie, Damien and Claire are mentioned lower down in the article, which you can read if you click on the image
(but name typos in high profile websites annoy me too!)

Pearl, yes indeed! and I hope everyone is following @SuspectsTVShow fanpage on Twitter!

So the s1 repeat will finish at around the same time as the BB finale.  This means that the tx date for Suspects could be as early as Aug 20th!!  (....she says with as much caution as possible....which, lets face it, probably isn't enoigh!  Eeek!!)

Jozie - I think that RT article is just exactly the one used for the original airing...I sincerely hope that Damien is featured much more in s2 promo......

Typos in people's names annoys me too, domino. I'm studying journalism at the moment and checking the spelling of names is one of the things that has been drummed into us right from the first class! It's so sloppy, particularly when it is well-known people and you can check the spelling on the internet!

Not sure if the whole article is recycled or if the top half is new but the bottom half is from when S1 originally began?  It says 1/10.

I know it shouldn't bother me, since we are getting those other 5 episodes plus more, some soon for S2 and others sometime next year, but seeing 1/10 brings up emotions of being cheated. In the end, I feel the show will be better served by the change, but I can't help wish they'd aired all 10 episodes in S1 then gone on to film 10 more for each of S2 & S3. I guess I'm just too greedy.  Need more DaMo on the TV & it frustrates me that UK shows are so short!  When they said Suspects was 10 eps I thought it was going to break that mold. Instead each series is even shorter than the norm.

Honestly, I like that UK series are so short. I think US shows milk them for more than they're worth and it's just too much. It gets pretty obvious as time goes on that they're running out of ideas and just being downright silly!
The whole entertainment industry is a joke over here. I'm thinking of looking for reasons to stay in London when I visit next summer.

I have no official confirmation, but there is a possibility that series 2 and 3 are going to be longer. fingers crossed

Agree with you Cora, there seems to be a dip in quality with super extended series, it dilutes the series arc. But when it comes to Damien we're a demanding bunch and guess we will always want more of his face on our TVs!

Because each episode is a self contained storyline though, it may appear as if Suspects can be stopped and started at any time without too much disruption, but there is a growing engagement with the characters and their dynamic which grows through the series and it was the ending of that that felt a bit too soon. And this is what is amazing about a show with no character story outside of the cases being investigated!

It felt that they were really getting into their stride when the series was cut short, so I totally agree with you, domino, about the engagement with the characters and their dynamics. I think 8-10 episodes would be an ideal series length. Can't wait to see the repeats in a couple of weeks!

Agree about them having finally hit their stride.  At least 8-10 episodes per series is a must.  Agree that there are US shows that really should quit after a while.  But so far everything I've ever seen with Damien I want MORE.  Being Human deserved another Series, at least, he was totally underutilized in Ripper Street, Suspects S1 being cut at 5 episodes was too abrupt.

Crossing fingers domino that your unofficial Suspects hunch is correct.  Certainly have to be longer than 5 episodes each.

It would make sense for the next 2 series to be longer, I guess the initial one was a pilot of sorts to see how it was received. personally I think 10 episodes is unlikely though, most UK tv series do not go on for that long.

The trailers showing on 5 star tv right now, for the series 1 re-runs beginning 20 July, make a big thing of the positive critical response it received.. quote and everything... so let's hope that is confirmation enough the audience want to see more of it in the next series!

But to be honest... I am just dead excited for Suspects to be returning full stop! yes we can argue about a few more episodes.. but Damien on the TV at all? yaygiddy

I agree with everthing everyone has already said....

But isn't it odd that the original intention was for s1 to be 10 eps long....but then only have 6 eps in s2 and 3?  Has any-one other than Morgan Jeffries said anything about the number of eps which have been filmed?  If they recorded 10 eps in 6 weeks for s1, then 7 eps in 5 weeks is a slower pace - I'd have thought that now they know what they'fe doing it would've got quicker rather than slower (unless they decided they were too rushed last time....)

I think fifi they piloted the first 5 eps to see what kind of response they could get for the show. They just filmed 10 eps of cop drama, maybe had no intention film more eps or making season 2 at all if the show didn't get good receiving from viewers.

Response was good, so, they got pretty busy to film more eps (or they confirmed that there will be new eps, so writing the episodes must have been done already and some of the cast choices for new eps).

That's why they cut first 10 eps in two seasons, so that they could promo new episodes they just filmed this year as S3. They filmed S3 for long time, so they might either made longer eps or more eps. They have many famous actors too in S3 so I wouldn't wonder if episodes could be a little longer...confuse

Molonians!

the first Suspects teaser for the new series was on CHANNEL 5 last night! I heard most of it rather than saw it, but it was just a quick one with no Damo (as yet). So keep your eyes peeled for more!

Big Brother ends mid August ish and that is when I anticipate series 2 airing, but it is very exciting that the trailers are coming now! action

For those who have not been able to see the new trailer including Suspects Series 2. you can watch it  here

Series 1 re-runs begin on 5* tv this Sunday 20 July, and it looks as if they will be in that slot weekly!

Suspects Series 1 Episode 1 | Radio Times

If that is the case here is the re-runs schedule for SERIES 1

Episode 1- 20 July

Episode 2 - 27 July

Episode 3 - 3 August

Episode 4 - 10 August

Episode 5 - 17 August

which takes us nicely to around the time Big Brother ends on Channel 5...

So SERIES 2 could possibly start either the week beginning 18 or 25 of August!
