Oh myyyyyyyy! I can book flights now! I'm totally just going, I have few free days to use and I'm sure my boss will understand..
(yeah, well, telling him I'm that I need few days off cause I'm seeing a play and I'm sure he will ask why do I need free days for that and seeing his face when I tell him that I will go see this play in London might be priceless!)
But this looks good! Now before I book flights I would like to know if any other forumers will be seeing this play in January? And if they are, when? I would like to accompany someone and meet you guys from here I don't know if I will make it to the opening night (Jan 21st) but that same week I could. Thinking of leaving from here to London Thursday after work and probably going to see the play Friday (And maybe again on Saturday??) And leaving back home Monday.
Whee I'm excited! And it would be amazing if they would show it Live across the world!
I can do that week Jozie. UJ & Lynne, do you want to come too? Jozie & Lynne, if you are staying over the weekend, then you are welcome to stay at Chez Laura again
Yaaaaay! I just looked the flights, it seems that there's no flight on Friday, Sunday or Monday, so it means that I have to spend time in London from Thursday Jan 22 to Tuesday Jan 27th (I somehow don't feel as sorry about that as I should be on my boss point of view). 5 days. If it's ok I could stay few days in your place Laura? I can look up hotels for few days (if you have work and stuff) it's no problem! (fifi and UJ comecomecomecomecome *keeps chanting* and everybody else too comecomecome...)
Fifi - "Carrie - 8 performances a week with
only Sundays off for 3 months would
be a bit much! Seems reasonable that
they would have a couple of weeks off
in March. And then it's Easter Sunday
on April 5th......"

Well I recently saw Richard III aside from a couple of the actors all the rest of the cast did the 8 shows a week for the full 3 months of the production. I know in longer productions actors have weeks off and understudies take over for that time but I haven't come across yet the production stopping for a week. Thats why I thought it was a National Theatre thing. It's like with 3 Winters there is a week gap in December. I've only seen it so far with NT. I know someone who worked at NT I can ask her.

Friday to Sunday night will definitely be OK. I'll check at home about the other nights Jozie. I will probably be working, but I'm sure you've got plans to look round London anyway. You should book Traveling Light at the National Theatre, you'll have time now.

Jozie/Laura/UJ - sounds good to me! I could do Friday or Saturday....and another stop-over at Chez Laura would be great - it's the most hospitable guest house I know. Thanks Laura! It'll be lovely to see you both again Jozie and UJ (and Laura too, obviously!)
Woohoo!!
Couldn't help but notice the little note on the bottom of the performance dates - "more performances to be announced".......
You'll have to check out some of his favorite restaurants Jozie. (nicknamed DSpots on my trip. *ahem*) I had a lovely breakfast at Honey & Co while there, and super delicious dinner at The Dock Kitchen. And don't get me started on Monmouth Coffee... *drool*
fifi, I noticed "more performances" as well

Whimsy - I know!! NT LIVE!!!! It does say from 16 April, so I am guessing timezone dependent the live one may be different time / day... but also may be reshown?
Have I mentioned already how into the theme of this play I am? neuroscience and consciousness.... many a heated discussion has been had on this in my world!
Well, Friday/Saturday are both good to me! Going to buy plane tickets next week. Maybe I go see it both days, if I get too excited (which is not very uncommon).
'The Hard Problem' booking opened yesterday for Supporting cast National Theatre members, Priority Members on Monday, Advance Members next Thursday, Members of the public, 23 October.
Re dates, there may be more added, but there is also another play 'Rules For Living' running at the Dorfman Theatre March and April, which may also explain the gaps in dates for those months.
I wonder if there will be any Q & A days. TBOAA Q & A was the best time! Learned so much about the production, great to hear the passion for their craft in their answers, and always nice to see the actors being themselves.
