The episode opens with a teenage girl found naked and with serious head wounds on a patch of waste ground. From her description, Charlie thinks that she must be 16-year-old Mandy Granger, who was reported missing earlier that evening. Charlie has already interviewed her parents, so Martha asks her to accompany them to intensive care to identify the victim. Andrew Granger cannot even bring himself to look at the girl. Charlie wonders whether this is due to guilt rather than fear. Martha runs a check and finds that he has a conviction for violence, and that his wife Natalie has spent time in a womenʼs refuge. However, Natalie says that the girl is not Mandy, and it seems unlikely that Andrew would attack the other girl. Fortunately, the team manage to establish that the injured girlʼs real name is Julie, but that she also uses the name Jez. She is transgender, which makes it possible that they are dealing with a hate crime. When the team discover that it was Mandy who made the 999 call which alerted them to Julieʼs plight, it appears that the two cases are connected after all. If they can find out what happened to Julie that night, perhaps they can also find Mandy…
So, after reading all the S3 episode guides I'm left with the impression that all the Series end with a child victim.
And, they definitely are holding out on us. The "next time" episode after 1.05 was about a PTSD suffing soldier gone missing. Why don't they just air it all? Unless they are saving that one for S4????...

Looking at the synopses, there are 2 storylines with children / young people as victims in this series.
Oh yes you are right whimsy, I thought we were going to see that episode too! maybe one of the suspects who is not fully explained in the shorter synopses for ep 3 and 4 (which are from radio times - not on the official suspects website yet) is a soldier suffering with PTSD? not long to find out!
Another incredible episode tonight - the quality of this drama just keeps on growing, tonight's storyline was suspenseful, moving, and kept me guessing right until the last minute. Seriously brilliant.
No time to comment on the episode now, but just wanted add this. Domino probably has a prettier HD version... And if it's ever in the caption game, I've got mine ready. I may need to go to the naughty corner for tweeting Damien about it...

After Tuesday's ep I thought I couldn't hope for better but I was wrong. There was much action that I almost couldn't keep up! In fact, I think there was so much that we need Jack Chat to clear everything out! So amazing. Again, the ending was so good. I like how they light up the mood little after heavy episode (in few ep's there have been this lighter conversation in the end). Irish babies...
Wow - you couldn't describe this episode as slow moving, could you? It was the most complicated storyline so far - there was a hell of a lot crammed into that 50 mins......if you'd turned away for a second you'd have got lost! For the first time ever I was grateful for the ad breaks to take a bit of a breather, and I still had a moment of 'I've missed something...what've I missed' in the middle of it. Not that I'm complaining....it's quite refreshing for a programme not to feel the need to keep reiterating the plot to remind the viewers of what's going on.
Fifi, totally agree....It was intense! I felt that every episode of this series ramped up the adrenalin factor, incredible TV.
It is definitely a drama that needs repeat watches - which for me is a sign of intelligent storytelling. I honestly don't have the right words to explain the experience of watching Suspects.. it is pretty unique!
I bet if he could read minds, a lot.
