Jozie, it sure is a fast-paced show! The dialogue in the scene I think you are referring to is: "I can fuck who I like! "No you can't, I have to have approval" "fuck you" "fuck you" No, really, fuck you" "can we stay up all night and get drunk together?"

Rosie, that was a bit if a gasp moment.. but as Kate was drunk do we think she will blame it on the booze?

Loved Kathy Burke, and that whole visit, Aunt Gladys makes Lulu look sensible in comparison!

I wasn't really feeling this episode at all, still Lulu in dungarees made it better (who knew there was such a thing as a denim onesie?!). But yeah, didn't really laugh at all tonight which is a shame after being in fits last week and there weren't any stand out mentions. Strangely, for someone who loves smutty humour I've never been a fan of toilet humour, it is mostly used when nothing else funny is happening.

Was very surprised at Kate's confession at the end. Anthony has no clue what he wants. I think he's lying as much as her in that he wants a normal life with a normal girl and they were kind of just settling with eachother.

Touchy feely aunt felt like a "let's get a known performer" to do something really creepy for two minutes moment.

And channel 4 introducer, don't promise nudity and fail to deliver!!!! How dare you! And Damo, put a top on man, this isn't the jungle book!

Edit! I did actually laugh once! When he said "Do you know what the biggest tragedy of all is?" and she said "my nose" biggrin

OMG this was by far my favorite episode so far! I was laughing out loud practically the whole episode right from the beginning! I absolutely loved it!
The pooping, the peeing/onesie, Sam peeing on Fred's BF, I'm usually not one for bathroom humor but I was cracking up!!
And Kate's little confession at the end... very interesting.

Can't wait till next week! And I can't believe it's almost over! I feel like it's getting better and better every week.

Aw Mickey that is a shame and you were looking forward to pooping peeing dungaree-ripping week too.

I think the humour was different for me too this week, each scene was like a rollercoaster with tense moments, and touching moments, alongside the funnies. It did feel to me more dramedy than sitcom, but that was a plus for me. But there were for me some epic roaring with laughter moments until i cried in this one, amongst all the other tones going on. and the rest was galvanising.

"And Damo, put a top on man, this isn't the jungle book!" HAHAHA! This made me LOL hard too!

LauraLizzie, I've loved them all in different ways but when I had time to think during this episode within all the fast paced epicness, the thought that I registered was "this just keeps geting better!"
Crashing is quality!

"Oh yeah, and Damien's body is literally perfect. That's all.! Great counterpoint to Mikey's comment. Reading your posts next to each other perhaps represents the feeling on Crashing ! But the comments on twitter seem to be getting more and more positive each week!

Ep 4 didn't make me laugh anywhere near as much as ep 3....but I still think it was an excellent episode.  It made me realise just how much these characters have grown on me and I'm actually starting to care about them!  Agree with the previous 'drama' comments...

Loved the scenes with Kate and Melody.  Melody has that casual confidence that Lulu would love to have....and she says things as she sees them without leaving a trail of destuction behind her.  She's grown on me more every week.  And Kate - poor Kate....she so wants to be somebody else....I still feel a lot of sympathy for her without finding her so annoying to watch.

I'm really enjoying the Sam/Fred/Will triangle....and the fact that Fred seems entirely unaware of the tension between Sam and Will.  I actually feel quite a lot of sympathy for Sam - I'd love Will to get slapped!!  He's just too.....

Lulu and Anthony's 'relationship' made sense to me for the first time in this ep....there was much less antagonism/teasing - they were far more relaxed together and I got a proper sense of them having a shared history.....probably largely because of the visit to Aunt Gladys.  Tho I still don't know why he would tell her anything private....especially about Kate!

I'm guessing that Kate and Anthony will have to stay together for the forseeable future, or there'll be no comedy...but really they shouldn't!  Interesting that Anthony said that he wished she'd open up, and then covered her up and carried her off.  I suspect that what attracted him to her in the first place is that she is just that bit buttoned down....the opposite of Lulu. Anthony is probably the least self aware character amoung the lot of them!

Sam and Lulu....that's a disaster waiting to happen!

I'm not really sure that they would all want Lulu to register officially as a property guardian with them after last week - it would've made more sense if last weeks ep had happened after she'd officially moved in.

Both last week and this week have felt far much better timed....they've fitted better in the 30min time slot and felt less rushed.  But I'd love them to be 45 min episodes....

fifi, I enjoy Fred/Sam/Will triangle as well! It's so funny to see Sam and Will fight over Fred who doesn't see that there actually fight over him! The moment where Sam pissed on Will in the toilet was intense scene and it reminded me the fight Lulu and Anthony had... They both stared at each other, almost like they were about to kiss each other in the end...

It is clear that Anthony is going to be upset about Sam and Lulu, maybe even more now when his own relationship might be ending after Kate' confession...

I just hope that there would be more tears of laughter and not tears of sorrow while watching this show... For now I have been laughing more than being upset which is good! But yeah, very fast moving show, I kinda like it, even though I would like watch longer episode but there is so much packed in 30 mins that it maybe needs to be melted down for a week..

fifi i agree with you about Anthony and Lulu in this episode.. there was a natural understanding and affection between them, some hugging as well as the play fighting they have done from the start. There was also a suggestion of sameness and affinity at certain points too...

Crashingep4cap-24.jpg

And the whole farting thing, Kate being too shy to and Anthony wishing she was "more like...." steering us towards seeing them as being better suited in many ways.

Going on previous comments on previous eps, this may be an unpopular opinion, but I like Lulu. She is a total ass when drunk but she has brought out certain truths that need to be brought out. I love that she's messy and that she tells Anthony "I can fuck who I want" and does too. Aunt Gladys was well creepy and horribly touchy to Lulu and that made me feel protective towards Lulu. SO annoyed with Anthony when he left her alone with Aunt Gladys! It was from that scene that it was kind of more out there to us, than it has been, that Lulu has always harboured feelings for Anthony. When Aunt Gladys said "I'm sorry darling you two will come to each other eventually"Lulu didn't protest.

On the flipside, after Anthony telling Lulu he wished Kate was freer, he was the one who covered her in a blanket and carried her away from the body paint party. And in the end said "I shouldn't have made you fart in bed" (LOL!) and was deadly serious about it!

But the only couple I totally ship are Fred and Sam. Anthony needs to be on his own, go on some curry pilgrimage or something and work out what he wants!

Anthony aside.. loved the girl power in this episode.  Melody is fab.. loved how she inspired Kate to get to that place. It's funny first and foremost, touching and cleverly put together but there are issues Crashing raises too. The whole body image issue and the toplessness and the empowerment. The gender double standard.

This episode made me laugh like a drain, but then again, potty humour makes me giggle, sorry but it does!

I thought Kathy Burke was underused, just one scene. Funny, yes, creepy...kind of...

I was kind of confused about Anthony's response to seeing Kate topless and dancing around covered in paint after his earlier confession to Lulu about wishing Kate was freer in her inhibitions and there she was, freer, and he was very uncomfortable by it. Perhaps he was just trying to protect her given that she was drunk but really? Her confession at the very end made me feel sorry for Anthony and i wonder whether it was the alcohol that was talking and whether she'll remember it the next episode because Anthony certainly will! Poor thing.

And gosh yes, plenty of Topless Damo shots this week, i felt like it should've been a drinking game all on it's own!! ;) First the gun show and then the abs show and both were fully appreciated and he still has the most perfectly pale skin.

Actually, about that... that scene seemed a bit at odds to me. She was liberating herself and saying "they're only boobs" and yet the camera shots were suddenly shoulders up. It seemed a bit of a contradiction to suddenly get a prudish viewpoint to the character's .. enlightenment. And I'm not saying that 'cos I want to see boobs (I don't fancy kate so..) it just seemed like a weird direction choice.

But yes, I think the show does talk about female things that society gets mawkish (is that a word?) about and that's a great thing. Women do go to the loo, women do bleed, women do want sex and yet media would make you believe they don't. And that gives an unhealthy representation to men.  Gawd.. I've gone all serious. yawn

I came on and voted a few days ago and started a post, but busy got the best of me.  For what it's worth, here are my

I guess I'm somewhere in the middle of all the opinions.  As much as the curry night episode was cringy, I was ROARING with laughter the entire time.  This time, not so many LOL's.  The potty humor was hit and miss for me.  The opening scene I just found meh.  Maybe it was meant to by symbolic for her letting loose in general, but I don't know anyone in a relationship that would be all excited that their partner would fart in front of them.  I've been married for 15 yrs, my husband has seen me give birth twice, I still don't go to the bathroom in front of him.  Nor him in front of me.  Does that make us prudish?  Not a single LOL in the Aunt Gladys scene.  I saw ahead of time the excitement about the actress playing her, I've never heard of her so didn't have any preconceived notions.  But she was just a nasty creepy character.  2nd time I watched I just wanted to fast forward that scene.  For the first time Sam's OTT annoyed me a bit.  He was such a twat!  How Fred could be so oblivious to the two men fighting over him is a mystery.

But onto things I loved.  My favorite scene has to be Lulu in the bathroom, calling Anthony, then Anthony topless and she wearing his shirt.  That's the one I was roaring at.  Anthony just takes Lulu's crazy in stride.  And the leasing guy not batting an eye. The one scene involving Sam that I did love was the literal pissing contest.  The way Sam casually turned around was hilarious!  EVERYTHING WITH MELODY.  I was so proud of Kate.  I've been Kate.  Scarily mirrors some things I've gone through.  You know when the idea of something is so much better than the reality of it?  She's not trying to be mean to Anthony.  She's just making the most of it as she can.  And she needs to know it's ok to admit she could be on the wrong path.  Which Melody helped with this episode.  I could have used a Melody when I was younger.

Just like everyone else, I'm confused about Anthony covering her after going on and on about getting her to loosen up.  Make up your mind dude!  It's been obvious to all of us from day 1 that what Anthony really wants is Lulu, and was in some ways using Kate as a substitute.  I think despite the fact that he might wish Kate was more like Lulu's carefree spirit in the abstract, he sees Kate more as the grownup he needs to keep himself grounded.  Anthony needs a session with Melody.  I could use a Melody.  Everyone needs a Melody in their life.

And yes to gender empowerment!  This show rocks in that department.  Mikey, there was a flash of Melody's blurry boobs from far away, does that count as nudity?

So overall still loving this show, but I rank this as my least favorite episode.  Put off by some of the potty humor and lecherous Aunt Gladys.

Well, I've had a week away with bad Internet reception, so wasn't actually able to see the episode till arriving home last night.

I loved it - this show just keeps getting better, please may there be a second series!

The only thing I didn't get was the opening scene. As someone who was brought up to go and fart down the loo, I found it annoying that Anthony insisted Kate 'let rip' in bed. Why? Not wanting to cart in public is manners as opposed to liberation. True liberation would be letting her do as she wanted. How did he know what she wanted to do, anyway? She just wanted to get out of bed and go so ewhere but he knew instantly why. Does she always pull those weird faces whenever she wants to far? Sorry, but I realised this week it's not the character of Kate I dislike but the actress - she is the only one in the whole cast who constantly over acts and I find her face-pulling annoying (rant over).

I loved the scenes with Kathy Burke - for one thing, she is the only one to say AnTHony rather than AnTony. I am really enjoying the role reversal in Crashing. Anthony is weak type, unable to decide between two women, the aunt is the lecherous old man - I was so annoyed when Anthony left Lulu alone with her, after promising not to. But I really loved the way Kathy Burke said the bathroom was at the very, very top of the house and would take a long time to find.

I loved Lulu ripping into her onesie, I can remember the days of wearing a jumpsuit (and don't get me started on the unitard) and having to undress quickly in a freezing public loo, so could completely relate to that. Loved her sending a text to Anthony and then the pair of them trying to look innocent when Lulu paid her deposit - and I didn't trust that man either, he seemed shifty.

The paint scene - the only nudity we saw was a flash of Melody's breasts. I found the whole 'I don't want to take off my top - ok I will routine' boring, but then again it was Kate.

Like others, I wondered why Anthony covered Kate up when he was trying to get her to be more relaxed around him - but she was covered in paint, half naked, drunk and dancing around in front of other people, not just him. I think that was why.

I felt sorry for Anthony at the end but hope she means it. Like Lulu, I think going out with Kate might be good for him but bad for her.
However, if there is to be a second series it may be still left dangling. At the moment it seems that he may be left with neither. How will he take Lulu and Sam - he's bound to find out, both are totally unable to keep a secret.

I really like the innocence of Fred, he's so sweet. Melody is still my favourite character.

This show has gotten much better.  This last episode was mostly good and the previous one was too.  So I've changed my votes to Good TV.  I'm with Whimsy on the first scene though. And no, Whimsy, we are the same way.  After 10 years together we still close the door to go to the bathroom and please don't fart near me if you can help it.  Not cute.  Not the end of the world but have some manners. Thanks.

When Anthony was covering up Kate I thought maybe he was concerned she might sober up and be embarrassed about it later? I think he wants Kate to let her hair down around him but not turn into a different person.  I'm conflicted over the Lulu vs. Kate thing.

Honestly, I'm more interested in the Sam/Fred/Will story.
