Crashing star Damien Molony a stealth hit on British TV

This is a great article!  And I think the chameleon comment is spot on...  I get the impression that the writer is totally familiar with Damien's work and must've been mortified by the Aidan/Hal mix-up.  I saw on twitter that she apologised to Damien that it had been 'cut down because of space'....which probably explains how that mix-up happened - but also means there was more!!!!  What could possibly have been important enough to have cut down a Damo interview for?!??  She must've been quite disappointed to have her article reduced....but probably not as much as I am!!

The only comment that I would take issue with is "Jack is.....very sexy, too - a sharp contrast to the uptight vampire Hal" 

I liked the that there was much of his personal life in this article, how he started all this and now he is here. Reading this made me smile (good thing that Molonians noticed the little error in the text about Hal, but luckily it was a small error) And she's right, he has been going from success to success. I really can't think where he will be after 5 years from now. He's career has been very upright all the time and when I think about how long he actually have been acting and how much he has accomplished.. Just wow

Just lovely!  The full article is so well written, capturing Damien's genuine personality.  The way the article was edited on the Irish Independent made him sound a bit like a country bumpkin!  But when you read what they edited out, you see more what the spirit of the interview sought to capture, that he really is lovely, gracious, modest, quiet.  Qualities that are sadly lacking in most of the industry.  Qualities that make him so likeable, beyond his characters and acting abilities.  Everyone who ever comes in contact with him - work colleagues, fans, interviewers - are enchanted by him.  And he doesn't let it get to his head.  I love hearing more about him as a person, those little glimpses into what makes him so unique.  To know things like he still gets butterflies just makes me love him more. 

Although I disagree about him not being alarmingly handsome.  He doesn't exactly have average, boy next door looks. His looks do have a chameleon quality - just a shave and change in hairstyle and wow how different does he look! But it is his innate talent - his expressiveness, his ability to shift his accent or the way he stands or add little mannerisms - that really morph him into another person.  Little tidbits like him asking his brother how a real chef operates.  Or when he played Flight, how he said he read alot about how detectives operate, like always looking around the room... He infuses realism, depth and nuance into his characters.  There's never a point where I've watched him and thought of him as just playing another version of himself.  (There are some very famous actors that I feel do just that!)  He has such a dynamic range.  And lucky for us, he's only just begun to explore it.

Sorry I know I'm just gushing about him, all things we fans already know.  I just am so happy when he does interviews, when he gets the recognition he deserves, not only for his acting, but also as a lovely human being.

I've said it before...but the thing that always strikes me about damo interviews is the way how much his enthusiasm for what he does shines through.

And I love that nugget of insight into Anthony's character......
