I've been musing over whether this production will go on tour....and tbh I can't see it getting transfered to the west end - that would make a nonsense of the 'intimate venue' setting.  But  it could maybe tour some smaller regional venues.....I would totally try to get to see it again if i could!

I'm still optimistic for a recording though.....it seems bad timing for a production of Lear, as i think one has recently been broadcast from The Globe?  But the production at the Minerva is being relayed to a screen in the theatre entrance - which means if you turn up to try and get a return on the night but are unsuccessful then you can still watch it on the screen!! Obviously I didn't get to watch it because i was inside   But that means that it must be being filmed every night.....it would be mental not to actually record it wouldn't it??!?!!

Woohoo! Congrats Lynne! and oh my god.. Love the programme! That is the first time I have seen the pics of Damien in it, wonderful.

Those are my thougths exactly on the transfer, and as you say there has been a broadcast of the play from The Globe. The BBC have also announced in recent days they will be broadcasting a version with a star studded cast.

Interesting to hear it is screened at the theatre entrance every night, worth going to try for returns for that I'd say! As we know from the past, a recording doesn't necessarily mean it will ever reach the wider audience though.. but I'm keeping everything crossed. It also begs the question of a live stream.. being extended further than the theatre entrance!

 Oh, since we have a few days' vacation in Chichester, I went to the theater again. No live transmission was shown on the screens at the entrance. Too bad, I thought I could have a look. 

That's great Sana, thanks for sharing those with us! Interesting that the programme notes are an "autobiography" rather than the more usual third person stuff - it's nice that the actors can say stuff about the others they're working with, too.

The bio stuff might be a combination of Damien's thoughts about the play and someone else writing it to get all the important bits and pieces about his career in but making it look like it's in the first person.

Oooh, fingers crossed - if it's on film there's at least a chance it will make it to a wider audience somehow (although not pirated, I hope!)

Interesting to read everyone's opinion on the cast notes in the programme. It does seem quite possible that they've been edited, but the writing style varies quite considerably from one cast member to the next - Danny Webb (Gloucester) actually recommends that anybody interested in finding out more of his credits checks his IMDB page....

It's a shame it wasn't streaming when you went back to watch it Sana!  My husband came to the theatre with me for dinner, and when a member of staff discovered that I had a ticket but he didn't, they told him he could stay and watch it on the screen - and there were other people sat around infront of the screen when I went in - but he didn't stay so I can't be absolutely certain it was streamed live.

 I think they do this often in theatres. I know at the NT & the Almeida if you’re late for a performance & they can’t let you in immediately you can watch on a tiny telly until there’s an appropriate point they can let it in. Usually there’s cameras so cast & technical folks wherever they are can keep track of cues. At the NT I can’t remember where it was but I just happened upon the tiny telly showing he Olivier stage. At the Almeida they take you to the green room. Soon I shall have seen King Lear too....!!!! Hoping I make it to Chichester at least! Let’s get there first I guess!!
