"Hi! Love Damien - and I have a question. Even though I see no credit for him in the IMDb listing for the movie "Loving Vincent", I SWEAR I HEAR DAMIEN's VOICE as a narrator. Especially about 1:16 into the "Loving Vincent official Trailer" on Youtube."
I believe Douglas Booth is the narrator in the actual film, and I honestly could not say if this was Damien, so I said I would ask all you fans at the forum!
The questioner mentions hearing him at the 1:16 mark but I hear him more at the end with "your, loving Vincent"?
As Molonians I guess it is easy to hear his voice everywhere, but, do we think it could be him?
Hi - I'm the OP who posed the query to the forum. I agree, I also hear him strongly at the very end when he says, "Your loving Vincent."
I've never heard Douglas Booth speak so it's possible he could have a very similar voice, but upon listening to the trailer my ears immediately pricked up in recognition. I tweeted Damien a few days ago but haven't heard anything....hopefully he'll answer. I'm curious what you all think too.
Hmmm, Douglas Booth is English (I thought he looked familiar - he was in Christopher and his Kind) but I guess that's no reason he couldn't adopt an Irish accent. He actually spoke German and/or spoke with a German accent for Christopher and his Kind (his scenes are here on YouTube if anyone's interested).
It's actually interesting to see the number of Irish actors in the cast - is there financial backing for the project from an Irish source, I wonder? It looks fascinating with the "painted animation" style.
It does sound quite like Damien but the credits on IMDB look pretty comprehensive and there's no credit there.
I agree that the "your loving Vincent" does sound a bit like Damien but I'm not entirely convinced. Again, I'm not sure about Douglas Booth's voice, although I have seen him in some things. Weirdly I was talking about Douglas Booth today because he's in the film The Limehouse Golem which I want to see.
This film about Vincent van Gogh looks really interesting. I love how it has been painted, I've never seen anything like that before.
Oh and hi locogirlp!

Would they use different voice actors for the trailer? As they are direct 'lines' from the film, it does seem unlikely.... however since Locogirl had brought this to our attention, I can't help hearing DaMo... and we know he does voiceover stuff!
I don't think it is Damien, there's something different about the timbre of the voice. Very like it, though, and I could well be wrong. I've never heard Douglas Booth so I've nothing to compare.
Shame, though - I'd love Damien and Saoirse Ronan to act together.
It sounds like Damien. But I also do not think he is. As Ellie said, something is different. But I was surprised that I heard Eleanor Tomlinson. I did not know she was playing in the film.
Yes I think we are all agreed Damien is def not in the film itself, but trailers are a separate beast, for example a composer can create the score for a trailer but not the film itself. My question was though in my last post would that extend to actual lines / excerpts from the film (narration) rather than just a 'voiceover'? Personally I'd be surprised.
However, It sounds like most here are also saying it's not Damien in the trailer either? It is testament to his excellent accent and voice skills that we can consider it though..and personally I can really see (hear?) what locogirl means, and couldn't be sure one way or another without official confirmation!
It does sound very similar, but it's so hard to tell. There is no Damien in the trailer, maybe he could be narrator if there is one in the film? What a puzzle...
Hey locogirlp, I guess it will remain a mystery! Damien is very busy at the moment in rehearsals for King Lear, hardly on Twitter at all.. and it would be hard for him to answer all the questions he is asked, or if he answers some end up upsetting the people he didn't answer (if that makes sense!). Nothing at all wrong with us speculating though and its a fun distraction indeed!
Not DaMo related but for fans of Being Human - I have only just realised that Aidan Turner is in the cast for this film. It's screening (with a live Q&A broadcast from the National Gallery after the film) at my local cinema on Monday 9th October. Hoping to make it, it looks like something to be appreciated on a big screen!
