"When I'd be in the trailer in the morning and I'd facetime with my parents, they'd say, ‘What are you doing today?’ and I'd say, ‘Today we're being shot at by a local farmer while we try to still his Shetland pony.’ Or ‘I'm getting sprayed on by an exploding ‘fat bird’ in a sewer.’ There was lots of great craic to be had.”
(I am sure they mean 'steal' not 'still'....)
Also, this is exciting:
"Then we're all really hoping for a second series of Brassic, so we're waiting hopefully to hear about that.”
Also, very exciting news about the short film 'Keep Breathing' - wonder if it is this?
(also it's equally flattering and annoying when, for their article, media plagiarize, almost word for word, the biography I wrote on Damien's IMDb page!)
I really need to lighten up about being annoyed about typos! I also think it should be fat berg not bird. And boo for plagiarism, domino.
Now I've got that off my chest... It's brilliant to see a new Damo interview and for him to talk so enthusiastically about Brassic. He really sounds like he's enjoyed it. Also very exciting to hear about a new film project :)
Domino, I was wondering if the short film was that one, as well. Quite exciting if it is - they're due to shoot it around now, I think!
I'm excited they're hoping for a second series of "Brassic" - I'm hoping for one (with Damien, natch) too. I'm hoping it just runs and runs, I want Damien on tv again.
About the plagiarism - at least it means they spell his name correctly!
Agree Rosie, it just sounds like the most brilliant experience, plus a great cast and team to be working with. Add that to Joe Gilgun's podcast interview where he said it was a magical experience, it really seems like a special show to work on. "I've never really been on a show before with so many regular cast. All being in together every day, for four months in Manchester was just great craic. The stuff that we would get up to-- I did something on this show for the first time every single day." How cool is that? I guess BH filming and Ripper Street filming must have been shorter or less group oriented?
Ellie, yes if it is the crowdfunded short film 'Keep Breathing' it is shooting about now - so the timing is right. What a cool, important and relevant project to be involved in if so. Not only will it do well in the worldwide short film festival circuit, but as it is inspired by the #MeToo movement it's important... and totally part of the zeitgeist, and will probably get lots of attention for that reason too. It will probably be used in educational settings too .. it is the kind of thing I would love to have shared with the young people and students I used to work with. Fingers crossed we find out soon so we can celebrate and support properly, or discover a whole other film Damien is involved in!
That was an enjoyable interview with the exception of the apparent confusion of still and steal. I'm curious and a bit concerned about no mention of Gameface.

I hadn't thought of that Jane.. perhaps he was referring to immediate plans, and is not allowed to mention GameFace yet, as casting has not been officially confirmed by Channel 4?
Also... perhaps he really did mean that they were trying to "still" a shetland pony... maybe the farmer likes his ponies rowdy!
