Brassic Series 6: Will We See Dylan?

Brassic returns for its 6th series this Thursday, 26th September, at 10 pm on Sky Max, and streaming on Sky and NOW.

We all know it’s unlikely that Damien’s character, Dylan, will return. But after his exit in series 4 and that unexpected moment at the end of series 5, his fate was left somewhat open-ended.

Adding to the intrigue, Damien is listed in the cast for the first episode of series 6 in several TV Guides—including the usually reliable Radio Times. While it could simply be a case of an outdated and generic cast list, as we've seen before, it certainly raises the question: Could we see a brief appearance from Dylan? Or are the listings just inaccurate?

Still, the possibility of Dylan making a comeback has me intrigued. He was always the brains of the gang, and his deep, tangled friendships with Vinnie, Erin, and Tyler make it hard to believe he wouldn’t cross paths with them again. Even though he’s on the run, there’s a part of me that thinks Dylan could still be looking out for his mates.

Fueling the speculation even further, the first episode of series 6 sees the gang on a trip to Dublin! While Dylan isn’t Irish, filming there would make it convenient for Damien if he was back home.

From the British Comedy Guide:

"A retired felon has something interesting stashed away in his attic... the original FA Cup stolen back in 1895. It’s just an interesting tale at first, until it gets robbed from the old dude’s home and Vinnie gets the blame. On a mission to clear his name, Vinnie and the gang chase the real culprits all the way to Dublin and cosy up with Ireland’s criminal underbelly. This is a trip the gang won’t forget in a hurry."

Could we see a surprise return from Dylan, even if just for a brief moment? Or has his story truly come to an end? While it seems unlikely, the door is still open—and who knows what surprises series 6 might bring?

At the very least, it's a great jumping-off point for some Dylan fanfic!

I'd love to see Damien back as Dylan - to me Brassic just hasn't been the same without him. The group's dynamic just isn't as good.

‼️🚨Spoilers alert!!!

No Dylan in Episode 1 😭but what a start to the new series, loved it.

I speculated on a surprise  Damien appearance as Dylan after seeing his name appearing in a few TV listings. Unfortunately, Naughty tv guides, the cast list was likely outdated or generic.

But, the episode was still such a fantastic start ! The gang’s trip to Dublin, and that storyline with the stolen FA Cup, was on the edge of the seat hilarious with the dramatic undercurrent… I particularly love the little flashes of flashbacks and the animated treats on Brassic, the footie one in this was excellent.

I had a glimmer of hope for a Dylan moment, with the mention of Niall playing poker in Dublin, given Dylan’s skills, but alas, it wasn’t meant to be.

I’ve only watched episode 1 so far but will definitely continue, especially after that cliff hanger (

Spoiler

‼️🚨Spoilers alert!!!

Just finished Episode 7, the series finale, and wow, I did NOT see that coming! 😢

The way things unfolded was such a shock, and so tragic. The reaction of Vinnie, Erin and the gang... is absolutely heartbreaking; they’re all devastated. 💔 And then, in true Brassic style, handled it in their own special way!

There are so many flashbacks to Dylan in the scenes with Vinnie trying to process it all, which just makes it even more emotional. Then the rest of the episode dedicated to saying goodbye.  It’s like he’s still very much a part of Series 6, even if he’s not there physically.

The way the show combines heartbreak and comedy in this episode is a tour de force. And how about a literal cliff hanger.

I’m still processing everything - what did you all think? Did anyone else watch yet?

We watched it all in 2 days!!! never laughed and then cried as much as in this series domino. We all thought the best 1 yet. I’m the Damo fan in our family & was the most upset about Dylan :’(( but part of me accepts it has to be this way. they could not just keep it dangling forever, the other part tho feels sad/ annoyed about the dangling. We just kept expecting him to pop up but not like that !!! :( Timing could have been better in this series not the last episode. I hated the way he went, the funeral & seeing all his photos but they chose a good one for the friend funeral. It was Vinnie & Erin being so upset that broke my heart. RIP Dylan ❤️❤️❤️

Hello everyone! Come and join the chat, we'd love to hear your thoughts too! welcome

Hey HalGal!  I totally agree, this series was such a bingeworthy treat, and I’ll admit, I was definitely on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen with Dylan, but was carried forward by the whole package.

You’re right, they couldn’t stretch out the ‘what’s happening with Dylan’ storyline forever, and finding a perfect exit without some sadness was a tall order. But wouldn’t it have been hilarious if he had just ended up emigrating as a polka gangster?

The tragi-comic vibe of Dylan's departure was so fitting for the show and exactly right for Brassic, but I also felt that the timing of it all was a bit off. I would have loved to see Dylan’s fate revealed at the end of episode 6, followed by the funeral and caper in episode 7. The sudden tone shift caught me off guard, and I really needed a bit more time to process everything. Joe Gilgun and Michelle Keegan were absolutely incredible in those emotional scenes, I was definitely in tears! 💔

RIP Dylan candle

That’s a lot of reads domino congrats!!:D I think I agree, to split the Dylan story over 2 episodes or would it just drag out the sadness. I blabbed when Vinnie cried & there was a definitely a tear in my sons eye. I spoke to him about this topic, he said thank god Dylan news wasn’t at the start & everyone sad thru the whole series!
