Flight-tastic GIFs whimsy! thank you for continuing to share them here, definitely agree your custom title should now be 'GIF Queen'

Love the "fetch me coffee" ones, clever how you got the dialogue on there

What i particularly love about Damien GIFs in general is they show case his expressivity. He is a master of nuance and shades.

love how we finally got to see Flight look up during his confession and dangling that "I am a liar" line in front of us in the beginning of the ep..but not revealing anything at all during it! Ooh the suspense!

Flight is such a wimp, lol! Twice he's been smacked and he over-reacts, hahaha.

I love Drake's face though when he's contemplating how he's going to perform the "police brutality". Was a brilliant scene, Flight fitting right in with the other three.

Kat, the whole scene had brilliant expressions from all four. Drake - I think he seriously had to think for a second before it dawned on him.  And then he somewhat smiles...

I had to cut the scene up and be selective what to use in order for the gifs to fit under 1 Mb, so I had to cut the funny scrunched up look Jackson has after he catches Flight from the punch.  I'll have to share a screencap.

Whimsy, I try to keep mine just under 2.  They work on Tumblr if they are 1.8 or so.  Do you have some other limiting factor to keep them under 1 Mb?  

The biggest thing I find you have to be careful with on Tumblr is the color saturation.  If you have one under 2 Mb and Tumblr refuses to upload it try desaturating the color.   You may not need this advice but I'm giving it because someone else might, and I just about went crazy one day trying to figure out why my GIFs under 2 Mb would not upload to Tumblr.

Jane I got the 1mg from doing a google on tumblr limits.  First gif I posted wouldn't animate so I researched. Several sources said 1mg limit.  But you're saying that's not so... it would make life SO much easier!  I shall have to test it.

I do desaturate mine if it's really being difficult to get the size down in other ways.  Like the ones I made with Reid patting him... oh I don't know if I put those here.  I dont know what it was about those but they were impossibly hard to cut down.  So was the Liar one.  If you compare the Fetch me Coffee set I made with yours from the same scene, mine are slightly paler than yours.  But then I see the oposite on tumblr, other people's are more saturated and it looks much better in some cases.  So I hate going that route.

I routinely upload 1.7 & 1.8.   I usually stick to 45 - 55 frames. I cut down the number of  frames by deleting every other frame, and then if I have to, deleting every 5th one, etc.   I have done some that are 70ish frames.   I'll save them and see what size the file is.  If the file size it too large I'll reduce the size (area) of the GIF until I get it down to 1.7 or 1.8.  I only desaturate if Tubmlr will not upload them.  I haven't figured out why Tumblr will upload some at one saturation point and not others...but the file size doesn't seem to matter.  I'm not an expert at these things but fumble my way through it with trial and error.

I have similar process Jane, I select the physical height and width size first, delete frames from beginning and end, and delete frames that basically repeat, that have no movement from one to the other.  Then I delete every 3rd frame (sometimes every other frame depending on how much movement there is) and then start spot checking and deleting frames.  Most of mine are under 25 frames, under 1mg.  I checked and think Tumblr will allow up to 2mg one a single gif, (which I didn't know) but if it's multipe they have to be under 1mg.

 

Sorry people we hijacked this thread to talk shop.  Will try to keep that off the actual thread from now on, but as you can see gif making is not an exact science, it's an art! wink
