Really enjoyed last night's episode, great balance of humour, drama and the not so much of a surprise twist, Matt Smith is a fab Doctor..and I am glad they didn't make it so interreferential that it was in danger of disappearing up it's own black hole...My young nephew struggled to understand some of the reference and allusion in previous series', and last night felt a little less all grown up to me? All those Daleks..what's not to love?! I cannot resist saying it though....brilliant though Doctor Who is, it is not Being Human.. in terms of performance or writing, so shoot me.
Last nights episode was brilliant!! (I'm so happy that they actually play in on the same nights here in the US! Makes it so much easier on me the spoiler lover/addict!) I'm gonna have to watch it again b4 next week! Which I'm super excited about bc it has a couple of familiar faces in it next week!

Who saw Doctor Who on Saturday night? What did you all think? the episode was written by Lord Toby, he always brings something a little deeper and more psychological, those layers were really engaging! and the whole way out western thing was cool!
I thought it was wonderful!!! My sister was talking about how some things in it were weird because Steven Moffat didnt write it. I was just like "No, Lord Toby wrote it!!! and that is why it was awesome!!!"

I have to admit, I have never watched an episode of Doctor Who... :( I am afraid too as I have a lot of shows, movies and men that I like that I'm afraid of "Falling in love" with more... Lol...

I stayed up late to watch it and couldn't sleep after. That episode ripped my heart out!!! I'm going to miss Amy and Rory so much. They were my favorite companions ever.
Spent Sunday watching this five episode block so ... sniff!
Rory was such a wonderful hero, easily my favourite companion, closely followed by Amy. A heartbreaking but technically happy ending for them. Must remember that or I'll be off again.
This block of episodes wasn't the strongest though, with the Western being the weakest. I know! Sorry! Lovely Western motifs and little else. Best bit for me was me going, "Who is that guy? Who is he? It's so obvious. Who is that - It's Ben Browder!" I preferred the last season, the one that apparently lost viewers. Maybe it's because I save them up and watch them all at once so arcs flow better. Still good and enjoyable though.
Great to see Rupert Graves and Mark Williams, and the Brig's daughter! And Mitchell & Webb! Half way through the episode, I suddenly realised whose those voices were.

It is a sign of great writing and acting when the audience becomes so invested in characters. We know this from Being Human! But for me great writing and acting is also about evolution... and the dynamics of change. Remind me of these words when the day comes that we lose Hal. can't believe i even wrote that
Although my first Dr Who memories are of John Pertwee, I kind of grew up with Tom Baker and so in my mind he will always be The Doctor. I liked the sense of gravity that Christopher Eccleston gave the character, although maybe one series was enough!
Would I like to see Damien in the role? Of course! Not least because it would keep him on our TV screens. Although I'm enjoying Hal so much at the moment that I hope he lasts a few more series.
