They are gorgeous pics Su and Laura thanks so much for sharing with us all
That is one awesome coat you've got going on there Su..despite this turquoise wonder however my eyes were drawn first to Damiens' smile and then jean clad thighs.... (sorry *fangirl moment*)
No prob with the pixelation Laura, you know how I feel about spoilers! your pics are beautiful, so smiley and happy!
Really happy you both had your moment with Damien and Kate captured like this!
Glad you like them. I enjoyed taking them :D As you can tell it was very rainy on one night and windy the next day.
The photo at night was taken on the Thursday night. It had been rainy on and off all day, but just as the cast arrived it really started chucking it down so when Damien and Kate arrived, they only had time to say hello, wave and run in to the location. They looked so surprised to see us waiting for them. Damien recognised us, his eyes widened and said "Oh my god, what are you doing out here in this rain?" We decided to wait in a nearby bar while they were filming and came back a few minutes before they left. There were a few local fans waiting too and although it had stopped raining a bit, they were still in costume so had to leave pretty quick. Michael and Kate came out first and Michael stopped to sign autographs and pose for photos. Damien came up behind him and saw us and came to say hello. He asked if I'd come up all the way from London and I said yes. I wanted to see some of the filming and had never been to Cardiff before so thought this was a good time to come. We had a quick chat. I asked if it was OK to take a photo (as he was in a new costume) but he said yes, that was fine. He chatted to the others too and they gave him a card from all the fans who had visited the sets thanking him for making them welcome and wishing him good luck (Kate had one too, which was given to her the day before and Becca got to give Michael his card and present for his baby that day too).
The other photo was taken on the Friday afternoon. Just before Kate & Damien arrived at the location, we met Steven Robertson (Mr Rook) and Phil Davies (Captain Hatch). Su and the others who had been on regular location visits said that Steven had not spoken to them at all in the past. As it was our last day, we decided to call out to him when he came out for a break (the tea and coffee was usually kept outside). When we saw him, we called out "Come and say hello Mr Rook". He looked startled to say the least! But he came over and was taken aback that not only did we know all about his character, but we knew who he was as an actor and even chatted about his work, like the film Inside I'm Dancing, and more recently Parades End with Benedict Cumberbatch and The Bletchley Circle on TV. He was so nice, His own accent was surprising as he plays posh/well spoken Englishmen. He actually comes from the Shetland Islands (very north of Scotland) and it's a cross between Scottish, German & Scandinavian. I told him I was glad he was back and I loved the scene in the archive in the last episode as when I qualified as a Librarian I worked in a similar place which was great and we joked about being trapped in the rolling shelves. Anyway, after that, every time he saw us he waved and we called out "We love you Mr Rook".
Next, we saw Phil Davies. He waved to us and shouted hello and we shouted hello back. Then he came over and started chatting asking where we'd all come from. He couldn't believe that we'd come from all over the country to watch the filming, and said that in all the films/TV programmes he'd been in this was the first time he'd seen this dedication. He called us "committed fans" (Steven, Damien and Kate all called us that too). We said we were big fans of the show and it helped that the crew and cast were so nice and let us watch. He said the he was thoroughly enjoying himself and we then talked about others programmes he was making (like Whitechapel) and other work we'd love watching him in like Vera Drake and Desperate Romantics.
When Damien and Kate arrived we had photos and a quick chat. Damien thanked us for the card and said he'd taken photos of it and sent them to his family and talked about the location we were in saying it was an amazing set and it was a big scene and he was looking forward to shooting the scene. He asked how I'd liked Cardiff and what had I seen. Luckily I'd managed to do a bit of sightseeing so I could answer that question! Kate was lovely and chatty. I'd seen her earlier on Thursday morning at the location and she'd thanked everyone for the card, then saw me and said "Hi, I've not seen you here before, have I?" She said she was thinking of doing some theatre after filming finished.

From the wonderful array of puffa jackets on display, it does appear that Wales was not playing ball with the weather! I hope you all didn't get soaking wet and cold. Whatever the weather, all of these pics are radiant and gorgeous!! thank you both again for sharing
Yes thank you Laura! you must have edited your report in after our earlier replies, threw me for the loop just then and wondered if I had missed it!
Thank you for sharing the details of your fabulous trip, I really appreciate it and also that you do so in a spoiler-free way! it can be done and you just proved it! for those if us who have not had the absolute treat of visiting filming, our treat is to be completely surprised and enthralled by the next episode without having the spoilt for us. I am avoiding certain parts of the internet at the moment for that reason.
It sounds like you had a fantastic time and really glad you got to meet more of the actors too, but the Damo bit makes me smile the most, it is wonderful how he remembers people straight away and is so lovely to his fans. I saw the card on twitter, it was brilliant!

Oh wow, what a treat this is! new pics and a report.
Thank you Laura for sharing your experience, you have a prodigious memory!. I still blank on about 90% of what i said to Damien back in Newcastle during the TL tour. They look so cold in their pictures as fabulous as they are. I visited Cardiff back in August and it tipped down with rain then and i thought Northumberland could get wet!
Seeing the pics makes me all the more excited for series 5. I've seen what could be construed as a spoiler pic elsewhere and considering i don't know a thing about what is going to happen this series, it's actually meaningless to me. I'm sure once series 5 has been shown and i see the pics again i'll go 'aahhh' all enlightened but right now, don't mean a thing.
Now eagerly waiting for the publicity machine to kick in but in the meantime, thank you to everyone who has visited locations and met the cast and crew, it's been lovely of you to share your experiences to those of us who can't travel and experience them for ourselves. Appreciated x

Sorry for the confusion! I started editing, then took a phone call half way through, when you must have replied.

No worries Laura m'dear! it was a pleasant surprise and thanks again for taking the time!
Thanks Laura. Sounds like you had an awesome time! I really get unreasonably excited by other peoples BH experiences, but personally I need a time machine so that I can watch the series with all of the magic intact, and then go back and try to catch some of it being filmed! So thank you for not dropping any spoilers.
