I'm trying to see that pic in context...i don't remember seeing Hal run away from the other two in that get up in the last episode so i'm assuming that's from an out take or something not used (or someone told Damien that there was fresh coffee on the go and grab it before it goes, i don't know...)
Why are the US Being Human media promo pics always better ones than the UK ones? And always different?
I love that these two pics are just so completely opposite. If you didn't know being human, you would never believe that it was the same character, and in the same time period.
I agree fifi. If you didn't know that that's the same tv series and even the same character, you would think that that's two completely different things. That's one of the reasons why I love Hal so much. He has so many different sites and Damien's acting shows brilliantly all of Hal's facets.
It's too hard to decide which one my favourite is. They're all just so gorgeous. It depends on my mood, I think. On some days I prefer "Good Hal" and on other days I prefer "Bad Hal".

well said fifi and HLH. I love the kind of heartbreaking little time capsule created by Lord Harry and Lady Mary - symbolised by these costumes. the tweed suit is perhaps the most iconic of Hal costumes!
I was taking a second (or third, fourth...) look at the BBCA photos and noticed a couple of things. First of all, they'd had the one with him in 1918 soldier uniform up for months and I just assumed it was the same, but there is a subtle difference:
The top is the BBC3 one from when S5 aired, the bottom is the BBCA one. Top, he looks so sad and romantic and *le sigh*... Bottom, that ever so slight smile makes him look a bit smug *more sighs*. I prefer the top one.

The other thing I noticed is this top picture is the untouched version of the one we'd seen previously. If I had the time and downloaded the software I could click on them back and forth and record it so you can see the transformation. I prefer the top one. All Damien. All hot. Don't need the over lighting/plastic look.

Well spotted whimsy. I'd noticed the second one, but I just assumed that the uniform one was the same one too - they're really different! I think I prefer the original uniform one, but totally agree - I was never very keen on that 'plastic look', and it's so completely unnecessary!!
Now that it's July I'm haunted by the thought that they should be getting ready to film for the next series, so it's actually really nice to have these new pics.....even if they are different versions of ones we've already seen. In fact...I'm unreasonably excited about it!
I would love to see that image morph from one to the other - if any technically minded person out there knows how to to that.......
The 'plastic' pic has a much more cinematic look to it, and I think I just find that out of place for being human which was always a bit more....real (right up until the last shot of the extra scene which is actually quite cinematic). Not that I'd object to a being human film, but it didn't really feel right for the tv series. Looking at the untouched version, though...and stepping away from the being human context......why would you want to do that to that face?!
And it's amazing how the suble differences in the two uniform pics make for such different effect. The slight smile and the pink hue lift the atmosphere of the pic so much...the original has a definate air of despair.
Sorry - I'll shut up now. I did say I was excited! lol.
Just one more thing..lol! It seems such a shame that these new pictures aren't, and never will be on the BBC Being Human page.

I have to admit that the [now forever known as] 'plasticky' picture is my desktop wallpaper at work! It's the eyes...I literally swoon every time I look at it. But now I've seen the original, then maybe I can change; maybe have it as my other work computer desktop, lol!
And new uniform pics are always good to have; he does just look so, well, dreamy, there even though he's in evil mode at that point! How has not been snapped up for a proper period drama romantic lead...?
