I just saw on Twitter that some old characters from series 1 are coming back in series 4 which is being filmed at the moment. Wouldn't it be nice to see a certain character come back from series 2 ?!
I noticed that too. I'd love to see Flight several years later, to see what has become of him. We haven't gotten any work-related tweets from Damien recently. Here's hoping!

You have no idea how much this fills me with hope, well anyone who goes on the forum regularly will probably know my feelings about Flight ;)
Just to have some closure to the story would be more than I could hope for. Shine was such a brilliant character anyway and such a force in series 2 that it would be hard to imagine him just fizzling away rather than going out with a bang. When Ripper Street was cancelled I read an interview with Joseph Mawle and he said he doesn't like to go back to characters he's already played as he likes to keep moving forward, so something has obviously changed his mind.
Apparently Shine will be setting out to get his revenge... and surely Flight is pivotal to what happened to him at the end of series 2? The obvious is revenge on Drake and Reid, but Flight was the one who named him...
Seeing Joseph Mawle's return to Ripper Street did fill me with a surge of hope for Damien to return to it as well. Shine and Flight's stories were so intertwined, I feel like how could they possibly have one without the other? Damien's been very quiet since Crashing ended, and that one photo on Instagram that got taken down showed him clean shaven, so I'm not going to discount the possibility that he's been off filming in Dublin!

I'm trying (and mostly failing) to be circumspect about this news. Watching past characters returning for s4 I couldn't help thinking that the return of Flight seemed entirely possible. And - lets face it - after that series ending anything seems possible!! I agree that their stories were completely intertwined - and I really think that we deserve some resolution to Flight's story.....but I can easily see how Shine could come back without any reference to Flight at all. It does undeniably open up the possibility for Flight's return and I will be absolutely gutted if it doesn't happen!
Damien has been very quiet lately and I have been convinced that he must be working on something.....
There's right and there's wrong. And it's right that Flight is included in this resolution. Even for non DaMo fans, there would be a huge gaping hole in Shine's story if Flight is not even mentioned. So let's hope the creators do what's right!
