BBC One just showed a variation on the trailer, without the 'I have sinned' bit and can now confirm "these streets, they're awful" is not Flight!

Yes, had to watch it a few times to make sure my eyes were not playing tricks on me! the part where Damien looks up is still there, but the voice over and shot of the 'I have sinned' line was not...

Agree about the 'awful' part of the other line sounding London...but I am still not sure on what accent Damien will have, he plays an Irishman but this is Victorian england, we don't know what interpretation of that yet... in his I have sinned line it is very difficult to catch the accent! Excited to find out!

In general the accents and language in Ripper Street are amazing, the dialogue is one of the many things that elevates this drama above the rest!

Considering I turned the tv on at 9pm last night hoping it might be a good time to catch the ad on real tv (rather than the pc - I don't know why.....but I just needed to see it on tv!) - and did actually see it, I can believe that they're showing it quite often.  But they've left it so late (it starts a week tomorrow.....eeekk!) that I'm not surprised that they're pushing it now.  Let's face it...by the time they aired the 'coming soon' trailer, they'd already set the tx date!

Don't know if this is the right place for this or if I missed it yesterday.  If so, feel free to move or delete this post.  BBC posted a new clip on the Ripper Street website.  No Damien, as it looks like it could possibly be the first 2 minutes of Episode 1???

But it does confirm that the back of the head we saw in the trailer is Reid.  And also the pocket watch I thought could possibly be Flight's is not, it is Reid's.

I think you're probably right, whimsy.  This does looks a lot like it could be the opening scene of the series. 

I'm really excited for ep1, despite the fact that Damien's not going to be in it.....although I do keep subconciously adding another 7 days to the countdown.  It feels a bit like next Monday is going to be Christmas eve....but then we'll have to wait a whole week longer until it's Chrismas day. 

Have I started babbling? .....I think I may have started babbling!!
