although Jack does overreact sometimes, he is also professional and has to stay detached...and managed it pretty well considering the nasty piece of work George Callaghan is
These scenes reminds me about old movies when there was no sound, I bet all actors have to really concentrate in these scenes cause we cannot hear what they say but we had to get the moods and everything..
Martha Jack and Charlie talk in the corridor outside the interview rooms. Martha tells them that they are going to treat Annette as victim for now and she will interview her, while Jack interviews George. Andrew Bourne needs to be released.
(Scene 44 (37.31-38.30) Martha interviews Annette, who says George forced her to be complicit or he would kill her in his sleep.)
Scene 45 (38.31-39.00)
Jack interviews George, who is smiling and tells Jack that Annette is innocent and "fucking weak", just doing what he told her to do. Jack tells him that is bullshit.
(Scene 46 (39.01-40.10) Back with Martha interviewing Annette, who at first claimed George made her contact the women on the domestic abuse forum. She tries to leave claiming she needs to go and look after her mother, but Martha tells her to stay and that they will go to her mother's house for her.)
Scene 47 (40.11-40.32)
Jack and Martha talk in the corridor about their respective interviews.
Jack: "He's smug, proud, but he's giving me nothing. He's to blame, she's weak, he forced her to do his bidding."
Martha: "Mine's very odd, frankly, she doesn't want us to go near her Mum that's for sure, so first thing we do?"
Jack: "Search team?"
Scene 48 (40.33-40.50)
Jack tells Charlie the search team discovered Annette's Mum had been neglected for four days and was found in an appalling condition
(Scene 49 (40.51-43.46) Martha interviews Annette confronting her about her Mum. It transpires Annette was cherry picking women on the domestic abuse site that reminded her of her Mum, who abandoned her as a child. When Martha arrests her she starts to behave strangely chanting "I can't hear you".)
This ep topic was really dark, I was glad those actors find a way lighten up the mood little. That last arresting what Martha make leave the situation little open but I got the idea that George and Annette was in this together.
In scene 45 I liked how Jack had that smug face all the time.. It was little scary but I liked it.
love the way the action flits back and forth between the Jack/George interview and the Martha/Annette interview - and they meet in the corridor to swap notes. (yes, the pen again Jozie! )
Jozie, not sure the ep left it open, Annette was arrested as well and admitted she was deliberately arranging to meet the women off the domestic abise forum.
what did we think about the inference about forums being dangerous places to meet people?!! (this being a forum!)
many of our forumers have met each other in real life, and or chatted on the phone / skype etc.. it would be a shame to say that all forums are all dangerous! but I do think it is worth reminding ourselves that due to anonymity we could be speaking toanyone at any time, and also to be very careful aout giving out details over the internet!!
It was little sloppy ending I dunno, maybe because that Annette arresting was bit weird and George was lying.. But they were guilty, I guess that's the main point :)
Well, it's my time to leave, think it's time to hit the hay and be read for the next week. I think I'm not going to be able to join Jack chat next sunday so I'm glad I made it till the end this time :)
I think in some forums is at least one 'black sheep' who wants to use it for his own puposes which can be dangerous, but mainly it's great and quite safe to meet new people on forums. So far, I haven't met one of those 'black sheep' in a forum or on the internet. Personally, I'm quite careful about what I tell others about me online.
