And we do all love a poll!!

I'd assumed that there would usually be a screening on press day?

That question - "And why is DS Jack Weston so rattled by this case?" - certainly does suggest some kind of personal insights into the character of Jack...which is rather exciting!  But I think that "Who hit Jonathan with a hammer?" may be my favourite line in a preview ever!  ...well it amused me anyway...

Maybe I just missed it, but a few seconds ago there was a short "next on channel 5" teaser on channel 5 with a few scenes of Suspects. :)

Of course I was! Lol!  It was great to see damien back on tv.  Even though I've watched the series a few times(!) I'm really looking forward to next week.......I know that every week its gonna get a bit better and s2 is gonna be a bit closer!

Ive just realised that, as long as very (very) soon means straight on from s1......we could have damo back on tv every week until the end of September!

Me too fifi! nothing like a bit of Damo on terrestrial TV, it is such a buzz seeing him on there!

If the schedule for the re-runs continues to be Sundays, (episode 2 is definitely next Sunday) the last episode would be 17 August, fitting in neatly with our predicted date for the beginning of Series 2, either in the week beginning 18 August or 25 August..or at a push, 1 September! (in which case we could have Damo back every week until mid October!)

That's a very pleasing prospect!

Wonder if it'll go back to Weston Wednesdays...or whether it'll stay as Suspect Sundays?!

Interesting....So series 2 is starting with recently filmed episodes & not with what would have been episode 6 if series one.

I agree.....I've always kind of assumed that the episodes in s1 were aired in the order they were filmed in - but I don't think there's any proper information to confirm that assumption?  Each episode in s1 was self-contained....they don't have any sort of chronological order at all - I feel starting s2 with a 2 parter twists that format a bit...but - like whimsy said - I don't suppose it'll make any difference to how they work with the other 5 eps.

I'm still intriuged to know how many eps they filmed during June.  With s2 apparently having 7 episodes, I'm wondering if Morgan Jeffery was getting mixed up with how many eps they were filming, and how many will be in s2.

If s2 is made up of the left over 5 plus another 2 (the 2part special) that would only leave 5 eps for 3 (unless he's referring to story lines, rather than episodes....)

Ah yes....no! - forget that!!

I've just remembered that the Geektown article mentions a 2nd two part special....which is presumably for s3

http://www.geektown.co.uk/2014/07/17/suspects-returns-channel-5-2nd-series-new-guest-stars/

So it makes perfect sense that Morgan Jeffrey is referring to storylines.....that's 6 stories per series - bit it's 7eps per series...

But that would also mean that they filmed 9eps over 5 weeks?.....is that even possible?!!

There is still some confusion over the 'special' being aired for the Series 2 opener - some media are calling it a 2 part special and some are saying two 1 hours specials (implying there are TWO specials to open series 2).

Either way, it seems a safe bet that these are new episodes, filmed over the summer this year!

fifi, I am also wondering if there will be a change of slot for Suspects! but Wednesdays will always be Weston Wednesdays, even if Suspects S2 airs on a different day.

Because eps usually last 1hr I'm not sure how they could count as a special if they are only an hour long - that would just be 2 more normal eps, wouldn't it?

My take on this is that there is a 2 part special to open s2 (1 storyline over 2 eps with a total of 2hrs (give or take)) and that the confusion has been caused because they've filmed another 2 part special - Geektown: "and a further two part special in which the team investigate a paedophile ring" - which I'm presuming is for s3 (although the Geektown article says this will be part of s2....I think they've failed to realise that the newly filmed eps are being broadcast over 2 series)

Yes that makes sense to me too fifi. I have seen at least 3 features in the press mentioning two 1 hour long specials though and that is misleading.

Most of the cast that were informally announced during S2 filming do seem to be appearing in the special, with Charlie Brooks though!

I have had official confirmation that Suspects Series 2 will begin with a 2 part special i.e 1 storyline spread over 2 episodes

and not "two hour-long specials in the autumn" as printed by Digital Spy.

This is exciting - they will be able to deal with a more meaty story over two parts.

Ah...I'm glad that's been confirmed!  And I agree Rosie - very exciting!  They've managed to include quite a few twists within an hour long episode...so a 2 hour long story could get very involved.

Now this is starting to feel quite imminent I'm getting impatient to know when it's going to start!

Well, it won't be starting before 7 August, (TV Schedules up until that date) but I am still betting on the week beginning 18 or 25 August.. or at a push 1 September!

If s2 is being released on dvd on the 29th Sept then surely it's got to be the week beginning 21st Aug?

but... if the info is correct on the series 2 dvd release for 29 September, and there are minimum 6 episodes in Series 2 (as we suspects with the 2 part special) the LATEST Series 2 can start is the week beginning 18 August... if it is 7 episodes that would be 11 August!?!?! coolbounce

Hmmm...ok, yes - that does seem a bit unlikely!  I don't expect they'd start s2 until s1 has finished airing.....would they?!

let's look at the facts:

1. S1 re-runs on 5 star tv until 17 August (S2 unlikely to begin until these are over)
2. Big Brother final likely week beginning 11 August (S2 unlikely to begin until over)
3. S1 & S2 DVD released 29 September (S2 likely to be over before dvd release)
4. S2 will have a 2 part special and likely longer than 5 episodes (we think 6 or 7)

all of the above would fit together if S2 begins airing on the week 18th August.....
