I did hope he wouldn't be in the Middle East but it looks from the clips Domino has found that they are filming in Jordan! I also think it might be something to do with an action game - either FOR a game or ABOUT a game. Hopefully the latter.

really exciting! another movie for Damo!!! action

Pearl, they are filming a war movie, also starring Brian Gleeson, directed by Simon Dixon and produced by Gareth Evans. if you look at this post, you will see the facebook comments!

The company MissionX offer "Total immersion training for director and actors who seek military authenticity and historical accuracy" and are on the film set with them.

I read that tweet several times and didn't register that it said "war movie"! Thanks for confirming it.

 

I've looked Brian Gleeson up in Imdb and see he is the son of the well-known Irish actor Brendan Gleeson.   I thought it was him when I first read the tweet!

No problem pearl. It was a facebook post actually, since been deleted, so whoops to MissionX for possibly posting something sooner than they should have! The DaMo Detectives should never be underestimated! Thought to be fair, it was hardly a difficult find it just popped up in Damien mentions on twitter.

meanwhile.... this appears to be another DaMo clue! disguised as a (very cool) Being Human tweet, but the writing on those shampoo bottles looks Arabic...

Does anyone know anything about Simon Dixon?  Only possible reference I can find is an IMDb reference for 'exectutive producer' on 'Bear Grylls Wild Weekends'!!!

Ah, finally got time to catch up!

If Damien is playing soldier, it would be super awesome!

I have actually seen that article before, when I was searching what it could be, but because is older project I thought it could not. BUT it looks very promising now! And Damien has opened up little bit more about his project and tweeted about his doings!aww

haha! yes, more clues!

...there is something exciting about the finding out bit though isn't there? if we knew it all, now, then it would just be months of waiting........
If it is a full on feature film, as it appears it may be, then filming could take a while and then it may be another year before it's released...

Another film MissionX worked on is soon to be released, 'Monsters Dark Continent - Goliath' (formerly just 'Monsters Dark Continent').

It was filmed in Jordan last year - looking at the trailer makes me wonder if Damo's will be shot in similar terrain. This looks brilliant, by the way.

Yes that one looks EPIC!  It has Johnny Harris and Joe Dempsie from The Fades. Loved both in that, and Joe Dempsie was in Game of Thrones as well...

I had a similar thought, if Damien's new film is shot in Jordan, in that similar terrain.  Though the little clues we have suggest more of a military drama?  

I am thrilled we are getting some cookie crumbs of clues.  Much better than complete radio silence like for Kill Your Friends.  I'm SO excited at the prospect of seeing Damo in some films, on the big screen.  (if all these are distributed in the states) Especially can't wait for friends and family who I couldn't convince to watch Being Human (I couldn't really try for Suspects since it's not on a TV channel like BH was) to discover his talent.  Then I can say "see, what have I been saying all along?!" smile

Ooh I'm eager to see what kind of soldier Damien will turn out to be! (Maybe, but there isn't much room to play any other part than soldier, if you think about the boxing lessons and everything.. At least hopefully not).
I'm so happy for him, it seems lately he's been on fire! Go Damien go!

We don't know that Damo will be a soldier but in a war film - highly likely!

A military drama would work well in that terrain whimsy.. deserty!

I would guess that boxers train for all round fitness......

Glofigs - clues have been pretty sparse!  The last tweet from Damien was the last one...... I swear he loves making us play guessing games!

Well he posted the workout photo 4 days ago but really the last clue as to what the role might be was on the 18th of August when he tweeted the picture of the water bottles.....

I'm so excited to find out more about the project! Mission x are now being pretty hush hush but I imagine once filming gets underway we might get a bit more news xx

I assumed it took all day in makeup because they were testing different things out?  Like costume fittings are done beforehand...

I don't know if we'll get anything when he's filming.  It's frustrating that Mission X took down their FB post and tweet, because it's hard to tell why they took it down.  Was it because we asked a question?  Was it because the director was mentioned and they want to keep his next project under wraps?  So I don't know if they will ever tweet anything about it again... hmm

Damien's last clue was 31 August glofigs - posted earlier in the topic almost a week! tooooo loooong agooooo!!! action

I guess the fact that he tweeted he was training with Arifa Bseiso, National boxing champion of Jordan is a clue that he needs to up his fitness levels for the role, confirming perhaps that it is super actiony and that he is in Jordan.

My feeling is they are already filming... the only other explanation for the make-up tweet is he was filming something else... or?

MissionX on their FB page did say 'preparing', but they also say 'back on a movie set'... pre-production? maybe they film the less actiony scenes first?

A national boxing champion (which is totes awesome!) seems overkill if she's just there to have them do crunches.  Gotta be something more to that...

Domino, that was my other guess.  Some filming has happened, but they needed the specialties of Mission X for some part of it?
