Fremantle Media have announced a multi-series deal with Australia’s free-to-air network Channel Seven, for the first four series of Suspects.
An original drama created by Newman Street (part of Fremantle Media UK) for Channel 5,Suspects landed on UK TV screens early 2014 and has received critical acclaim since its premiere. The drama has just completed its third series, securing over 1m viewers as well as performing above Channel 5’s weekday 10pm slot average.
Alongside the three lead actors playing the detectives in CID 1, a host of stellar guest stars from popular UK dramas have appeared as their 'suspects' across the threes series, all actors improvising spontaneous dialogue within a framework of gripping cases and investigations, providing uniquely immersive, compelling, edge-of-the-seat viewing.
Paul Ridley, the Senior Exec VP of Sales & Distribution for Asia Pacific at FremantleMedia International said, “Suspects is a real game changer on the UK drama scene. With a fast pace, high tension storylines and a stellar cast – the series is set to be addictive viewing.”
Brook Hall, Head of Scheduling – Digital Channels at Seven said, “Suspects is an exciting addition to 7TWO’s dominant UK drama slate. We expect Australian audiences will embrace premiere episodes of this addictive new crime drama.”
We can’t wait for the Australian audience to meet Weston, Bellamy and Steele and hope it is the first of many international deals for our favourite crime drama.
Suspects is series-produced by Kara Manley and co-created / exec produced by Paul Marquess for Newman Street (part of FremantleMedia UK), and for Channel 5.

Now I should write somebody on our TV and tell them to live in this moment and not always years back... I already wrote Netflix, that they should propose this program there. No answer.
I thought this show was already showing in Germany?
Last summer one of the production team member said that they have German fans cause they are airing show there? Might have been wrong about it though, there's just more ppl with satellites probably.
Ooh, sharp eyes fifi. I didn't catch that! (I blame domino for my distraction at the time of reading)

Ooh well spotted fifi...I'll just need to check that is the wording of the press release and not my wording in the article before we go getting over excited (Though I full expect Suspects to run beyond four series!)
I fully expect there to be more series too....but it's good to see my expectation is shared by Fremantle (and I did check the wording in original press release before I got excited!)
hopefully we will have a confirmation official announcement of series 4 soon... but the voiceover announcement at the end of Series 3 is good enough for me!
Suspects Series 3 is now airing in Australia, Episode 1 last week, episode 2 this week!
Channel 7 has aired all the series back to back so far... and as we know they acquired series 1 - 4 ... which begs the question, will Australia be seeing Series 4 before the UK?
Any Australian fans out there watching? We'd love to hear your thoughts!
