I remember watching this show when it was first on and totally loving Jon.

So when I started watching Being Human for the first time I had no idea that it was the same actor, until I came on this site and saw a picture from GameFace. I wondered who Damien had played and wracked my brain, till it suddenly hit me that he played Jon, and I thought "I loved Jon".

I think he plays the straight guy in a comedy brilliantly.

In contrast to Marcella I guess Jon was the 'straight' guy, but he did his character does also have excellent comedy bones, on a far more low key level! Of course Being Human was also a comedy drama, but we sometimes forget this because of all the blood and killing and.. drama! blood

I don't think there was much humour in Being Human season 3. But with arrival of our wonderful guy and Tom the humour returned. Season 3 was so depressing.

I totally agree with you. Season 3 was very bleak and depressing for me. And in contrast to others, I was not so annoyed by Mitchell and Annie and was therefore very upset.

Mine too! So funny! But also, very endearing, despite her bravado to the outside world, the lovely Marcella is properly insecure on the inside. If only she could see what we see!

Aah, Albert! My favourite charscter, so vulnerable. I've always imagined him going to America and meeting up again with Evelyn.

I so wanted Marcella and Jon to be together. But Marcella was never going to do the sensible thing.

Perfect and lovely guy actually wants her, but she goes for the ex, who dumped her.

The final finale scene was perfect, as we have said many times before..

Open ended and almost a re-set for Joncella to continue!

Marcella: Maybe I wasn’t as ready as I thought I was..

Jon: Maybe I rushed you

Marcella: ..probably gonna need more lessons

Jon: Loads, you’ll need loads, like certainly more than five, hopefully less than ten

Marcella: I’d say ten

Jon: I could do ten..

Marcella: Ten seems..

Jon: I do a package....

gameface-ep6-30.jpg

(we want plenty more packages! Bring on GameFace 2!)

So glad you wrote out the lines. There is so much meaning packed into that last scenes and just the way the words were delivered. Set the stage for anticipation for what's next for sure.

I was late to the game for Ripper Street, yes I know, under that rock again but I found the character of Albert just so endearing. He had just enough "innocence" about him and yet could easily turn on a dime. Such character range there.

Certainly puts me in the mood for some re-watches.

Hi Susan, great to see you on the forum again!

Yes, that final scene is so beautifully crafted. After all the Joncella chemistry, tension and undercurrents, none of us were sure how the series would end, and very much hoped it wasn't a final conclusion for Jon and Marcella. The series arc could have ended rather differently, but Roisin C has struck just the right note, it isn't a happily ever after, it isn't an end, it's an open ended, gentle but significant cliff hanger. She is masterful at bringing the heart plucking emotion, without it being cheesy or smultzy at all. She has her very own comedy drama flavour, and it's just brilliant.

Also, anyone who can use the language of driving lessons as a metaphor for relationship status deserves an award!

Almost on this day in November 2013
