it sure does Show no mercy, but it might make things a bit confusing to have a separate topic than our already existing Jack Weston appreciation topic or our Damien molony hair appreciation topic! so I will merge this with either one of those.. your choice, which one?!

As much as it gets him into trouble, I admire Jack's caped crusader attitude and willingness to push the line. He is driven and for the right reasons! Anyone else?

His intensity, his focus really keeps me into the show. Jack Weston is complex, though. Never think you know him. And he gets too involved, he forgets to check himself. I like that sense of recklessness. I also like the humor, a little left of appropriate. He cracks me up!

This is Jack Weston at his best and worst, for me. Forgive the poor quality, it was a screengrab taken after he found the dead pedophile. He started this case by saying to Charlie, "The guy's got what's comin' to him. You take the law into your own hands, you take the risks, okay?"

In the end, he breaks police procedure, lies to his fellow police officers, keeps officers searching for evidence after he had found and hidden it (a misuse of police resources), attempts to plant evidence, and generally mucks up a case. He took the law into his own hands, and he got what was coming to him.

And he still stares arrogantly at the camera, with his hair all around his face, and I want to take him home and keep him forever.

Well said TJ" there is much bubbling under the surface with Jack, but I do feel his motivations are not so muddy, he wants to see justice done... what drives that is more complex perhaps and as we've seen depends on the case and victims involved. At the end of series 2 he had messed up and got off lightly really, which at first he appears to, arrogantly, not understand. He also overlooks the impact he is having on his team and colleagues / friends. Although underneath that, he does want to please. I just admire someone who takes risks for the greater good. In the end the only one who suffered was him... and perhaps Martha, which for me is the harder thing to forgive him for.

I agree, Domino. Jack owes Martha big time. She saved his career on that last case in series 2. Then he shows up in series 3 all Cocky McArrogant again! Some of my favorite scenes are Jack and Charlie just being themselves. Charlie is the leveler, the one who holds the team together and keeps Jack focused. She gives him enough competition to keep him on his toes. I love the way that whole team works.

We need a fic for those enforced vacation weeks. What did Jack do, to get himself together after breaking his own rules for how to be a good cop?

I love how Charlie doesn't take any of Jack's you know what! It's awesome!

I love Jack's passion, intelligence and wit but I wouldn't want to work with him ! Perhaps admire him from afar in an office crush and hope that one day he might notice that I'd had my hair done too.

 LOL!

But he is more brilliant detective than hard to work with maverick ... that energy and pinpoint 'dog with a bone' focus would be welcome on my team!!!

Oh how I appreciate Jack. I loved how he changed the parting of his hair, I always imagined it was which ever side of the bed he woke up on would determind on what side it was parted.

He's also a bloody brilliant detective. In my mind he still solving crimes, getting wound up when people lie to him and getting annoyed when his superiors don't let him do it his way. Also I'd like to think that he keep a eye on Saul.

Yes indeed, Jack's 'killer instinct' and 'acute emotional intelligence' are his special detective qualities, and they save him time and time again when his maverick tendencies get him into trouble! (As well as his easy charm and being a man of action. So compelling to watch.

SuspectsJACKACUTE2.jpg

There were parallels to his own personal experience with Saul. It would make an interesting fan fiction Ann...or maybe a Jack Weston spin off..

....Who wouldn't love a Jack Weston spin off?

A Jack Weston spin off that would be awsome.

I'm hoping that with Big Brother being axed, maybe (everything crossed) channel 5 may recommision a new run Suspects.

I'd love to see how Jack handles having Alisha as his boss. I think he was fine with Martha, he totally admired and respected her. Even with Drummond he respected his position. But they are older than Jack, Alisha is the same age as him.
I'm not sure I'd like Jack to become a DI, I enjoy the freedom he has as a DS.

But a just Jack spin off...oh well I can dream.

Oooh the lovely Jack. Would love to get me some Jack Weston.

Do you you know what I think was the saddest thing about Jack? When his daughter was kidnapped and they were checking the dna in Jack's bathroom all they found was Jack's, Lucy's and the guy who kidnapped Lucy. No one else. Didn't Jack ever have women back? He's a very sexy and attractive man. Didn't he ever date.
His flat is very nice, very stylish though.
