I am utterly thrilled with what I have seen of Clean Break so far! The story line was gripping from beginning to end and all the characters engaging.. great to finally meet them all. Lots of Damien, it is great to see him in a front and centre role where he deserves to be. Completely loving Danny... words cannot express how exciting to finally 'meet' him!
As we have read, Danny is a conflicted angsty character faced with a tough decision and this first episode really put the flesh on the bones of that description. Damien gave the most nuanced performance of the episode. The tension within Danny internally and externally is captivating. He has the brawn but also the heart. His scenes with Amybeth McNulty as Jenny were the standout ones for me. Amybeth was brilliant too! And what a cliffhanger! OH DANNY!!!!
Just watched the first episode, thanks to YouTube. Slow build up, gripping drama which left me wondering who was plotting what with who. Excellent cast, especially Amybeth McNulty and Damien. Hope the next episode is also on YouTube, am chomping at the bit already - can't wait for the DVD. 😃
Used the extra hour with the clocks going back to watch the first episode. I loved it. It was so gripping all the way through. Even though I knew what was going to happen at the end of the episode I was still genuinely frightened for Danny.
There seems to be so many strands of mystery and connections between all the characters with Dessie seeming to be at the centre of it all. Like a spider weaving its web.
Danny seems full of contradictions. He goes along with the kidnapping but really seems to care about the children. He seems rather aimless at the moment and just seems swept along with whatever other people seem to want him to do.
