Jimmy's story definitely felt like a punch in the chest. I enjoy and respect how Suspects is covering a wide and realistic crime scale.
And I pretty much cheered when Stan was thrown off the parking lot.

I loved how protective and father like Jack is being, so quickly towards Lucy. Yes she was kidnapped but he could of been much more chill. But he wasn't! Jack has his dad brain on and it was distressing in a way to see him so frustrated that he couldn't help as much as he wanted to.

The double bill next week will be worth staying up for! I'll have to make sure I've got drinks and snacks.

Drummond was covering his backside by not going after Mo then, for telling Gary there'd been only him and Stan up on the roof. Mo obviously has him on his pocket and to go against him means all his secrets coming out and he flat out lied to Jack about Lucy being threatened, again to cover his own complicity. There was no one on the roof apart from him, Mo and Stan. Stan is dead, Mo has taken off so it's only his word that Lucy was supposedly threatened. And he didn't threaten Lucy.

Also had a problem with the blood, Stan looked like he landed on a blood filled balloon, there wouldn't have been that much blood- would've been mostly around his head and not everywhere else, I don't think there was enough time for the blood to spread as quickly as it did as Gary heard the impact and went to investigate immediately. I'd think high velocity blood splatter wouldn't have looked like that either (watched a lot of stuff on the Crime and Investigation channels on Sky ;))

Another brilliant episode!  This series is an absolue corker!!  The tension/frustration is palpable and I love the frantic, somewhat chaotic effect that is obviously created by the fact that the dialogue is improvised.  One of my favourite moments was when Jack kicked off and accused them all of sitting around doing nothing......that uncomfortable stunned silence which followed - it felt as if no-one literally knew what to say! - and then Alisha awkwardly starting to calmly try and explain their procedure..... Just one little gem of realism which has stayed with me.

On first viewing I had assumed that because Jack was in the car with Charlie when Stan 'jumped' off the roof, then it would be proveable that he wasn't on the roof.....but I'm not so sure anymore.  In theory he could've been on the roof with Dan and Stan before Charlie found him and Lucy....  - so that's a worry!  Especially if he starts lying to try and cover for dodgy Dan. 

I don't think that Alisha knows about Dan - and I think she was telling the truth when she said that he was a good copper.  I suspect that whatever Mo and Stan have on him is his achilles heel and that in all other areas he has had an exemplary career....his sympathy for Jack feels very genuine, but I also think that he will be prepared to drag down anyone to protect himself.

But I don't get why Dan wants Lucy in witness protection.  I presume it's just to strenghen his story that Mo threatened her which in turn is to keep Jack quiet about Mo being on the roof......but surely that's just more likely to encourage Jack to go after Mo?! 

(Must admit that I do keep wondering how the investigation into Martha's killing has stalled so completely - apparently no-one is following anything up, because they still haven't discovered that the actual murder weapon is missing from the evidence store!)

Tbh I have mixed feelings about next week being a double bill.  On the one hand it's an exciting prospect, but I was looking forward to another two weeks.  And next Thur is my first day back at work after the school summer hols....so not good timing!  I'm also a little suspicious as to why they've decided to air both eps in one hit.....

Just like last week, I feel that this week the acting has skyrocketed.  Anyone know how much story time has passed???  This has got to be the most turbulent time in Jack's life. (and from what we know of his past both while working as a copper and before he's no stranger to turbulent!) From the discovery of Martha, to that investigation getting stalled, to discovering he has a kid, to her getting kidnapped... Damien did a good job of blending overwhelmed, protective, complaint, frustrated, and scared.  Normally cocky and sure Jack has really stepped into the father role - chomping at the bit to move heaven and earth to find his daughter but looking completely helpless at the situation.  Gary, I love Gary.  He's green and sweet and sympathetic.  (And gives me lots of Tom feels)  I was afraid he'd keep quiet his suspicions and was relieved when he confided in Charlie. The first couple episodes of this series I was worried about Charlie getting the short end of the stick with all the attention on Jack having found Martha, and the new crew, and then Jack's daughter... but the past two episodes she's really shone.  Pragmatic, sympathetic, loyal - she and Jack have always had an on again/off again relationship, it seems.  He's always going off on his own (often fucking something up), and she's had to confront him so many times.  But she's definitely got his back.  I'm not too worried about Drummond getting it over on Jack.  Jack is too involved right now in his bubble of troubles to work out he's beeing manipulated, and I think Drummond will likely try to use him as a scapegoat. But between Gary and Charlie, I think the truth will come out.  I don't see anything suspicious about Alisha.  She seems straightforward and genuine and unaware of Drummond's shady dealings.  It will be interesting to see how she deals with it all coming out - her speech to Gary was clearly to inform us of her loyalty to Drummond, and that loyalty will be tested for sure.  I think she is an honest cop that will do the right thing.

It does bug me that there's been no mention of Martha and the investigation into the murder of her and her husband at all the past couple of episodes, though I can excuse it this time as finding the kidnapped girl was a frantic priority.   Another thing that bugs me is why Drummond would have told Jack the truth and gotten Lucy away.   I don't' think Jack gives an eff about whether Stan jumped or Mo pushed him.  In fact, knowing how Jack has dealt with pedophiles in the past, I would think he'd cheer Mo on and keep his seret himself.  So why didn't Drummond just keep to the story he told Gary?  Or better yet, why did he suddenly have a concience and tell Mo he would have to bring him in for the death of his brother?  Drummond and Mo could have agreed to get their stories straight and insist it was a suicide.  I would think the entire team would cheer that Stan is dead, and wouldn't have looked too hard into how it happened.  It's like he's unnecessarily complicated it for himself.  And of course tighten the web around himself and Jack. 

I guess The bloody body didn't bother me too much because quite frankly I didn't look too closely at it! Lol. But I agree, just would have taken a bit longer for all that blood to seep out.  

The double bill is welcome/unwelcome.  On the one hand, the penultimate is probably such a cliffhanger maybe it's better not to wait.  On the other hand, if you make people wait they will keep coming back.  It builds more suspense. You'd think Channel 5 would want to draw it out as long as possible.  I don't like that Channel 5 has always screwed this show around with the scheduling.
