It looks like tickets released today have sold out already, apart from the tickets for 16 - 25 year old prologue members!

Who managed to grab one? cool

Congratulations, fifi, I'm so jealous! I don't need to tell you to enjoy the play - I know you will! Damien has great stage presence and is a joy to watch live!

Sana - just realised that since "weather stopped play" over the summer, this is going to be your first Shakespeare experience isn't it? What a way to start!

Yes, isn't that great?  I'm so excited. My first time Shakespeare. I'm curious what awaits me there. The pictures are so great and I also have quite good tickets in the first row ...biggrin

From what I understand, the Festival Theatre is small enough that there are probably no "bad" tickets but front row is fantastic, Sana (although that eye gouging scene does look very graphic, maybe a bit more distance would suit a wimp like me!). Are you researching the play first or just going to immerse yourself in it and let the actors carry you along?

Yes it is a small theater. And after I read the review of the Times, i wonder what i should wear. biggrin Fortunately, I am not squeamish. Would I need an umbrella?

Before I got the ticket, I had bought a king lear book. this is quite interesting, since I bought a German translation. In the book is also the English version. Now it is always difficult with translations. Especially when there are so old books. There are also notes and explanations in the book to explain the word games and meanings of words that may be lost during translation. I've started to read, but I'm not going to read until the end to get some tension.

Sana, front row tickets are great (i've just posted my review on here), I was on front row on the 2nd October, it feels like your actually part of it... although there is a lot of rain you don't get wet and yes, if your squeemish close your eyes at the eye gorging bit, has anyone took your ticket from you yet, your in for a real treat, it was amazing.

Hi Sana, what a shame nobody took you up on the kind ticket offer, but great that you're now going with your husband. Not long now !

That is not that bad. It was only an offer.

My husband is now looking forward to it. I told him that Phil Daniels plays the fool.

Phil Daniels had played the Jimmy in Quadrophenia. And my husband is a scooter driving mod since he's 16 years old. Now he can hardly wait. highfive

Glad it all worked out for you in the end Sana

For anyone looking for tickets, no returns have been available on the website for days, but apparently a returns queue system is in operation!

MOLONIANS!

Only 2 weeks left until King Lear finishes its run at CFT!

Update on the tickets situation:

Tickets are still appearing on the website occasionally so definitely worth checking HERE regulary, (but you have to be quick)

Additionally, there are returns available on the door sometimes, and there is a returns queue in operation. If you queue and are unable to get a seat, the play can be watched on a screen at the theatre door!
