I guess Michelle Keegan has a massive sideline in fashion and clothes, so it follows. And would be fine if that was all, but it tends to border on the sexist and speculative. But as we've said, its the only news we're getting on filming so... #conflicteddomino

There has been a distinct lack of DaMo in the latest filming news, But he was announced as main cast right from the get go so I'm not reading anything into that, and fully expect him front and centre in every ep of this new drama!

It looks like filming is back in Bacup - according to the Manchester Evening News "locations around the town have also been filmed, including near the former police station, on Bank Street, and also near Broadclough Mill, on Burnley Road." Wonder if there are any DaMo fans out there who live in the area? cool

I'm hoping we see some filming pics of the lads, like this one below.

Do we reckon this is a scene being filmed here, or is it behind the scenes shenanigans?

A pic of Damien and Joe Gilgun filming together would make my day! They are playing best mates after all...

I only hope that Damien's accent rubs off on Joe's Preacher vampire - Ruth Negga's accent has failed to. I love his character, he's perfect for the role but his Irish accent makes me cringe.
It's just good to see Damien having fun!

Ooh, so you think that Damien's character will have his Irish accent? We know from Kill Your Friends he can do a Mancunian one...and I must admit I assumed it would be that considering where it is set and the fact that Joe Gilgun's character and his are meant to be besties from childhood... so even if originally from Ireland, his character may have developed a Manchester twang...

No, domino, I was actually thinking about his normal voice. I thought, you know, they might chat in between takes 😁.
I'm expecting a Mancunian accent, too (we know Damien is good at accents) but he was supposed to have been friends with Lulu (on Crashing) from childhood and still had his Irish accent.
I was listening to the a sports programme on the radio this afternoon (my son-in-law was taking me shopping, he always has sport on the car radio) and they had an interview with one of the Newcastle United players, I think he is from Czechoslovakia, and he has the most amazing accent - a real mix of Geordie and his home country. It was really odd but nice. He sounded 'proper Geordie' with some words in his sentences. He said he learned English from his team mates. So Irish with a Manc twang could be on the cards . . .

Oh I see Ellie, you mean just generally behind the scenes. It could work both ways, Joe G has his own lovely natural accent and Damien will be surrounded by different accents! Can't wait to find out, as always!

Good point about Anthony's accent in Crashing, though perhaps it was slightly less strong? It would be one of the things I would love to ask Damien in an interview, about all his characters and all their accents, and how many if any have his natural accent. He is certainly has extremely versatile talent in the voice department. I suspect his own natural accent has evolved over the years he has lived in the UK too!

Rumour has it that filming for block 1 has completed, with block 2 filming beginning in November. action

This explains why Damien is able to squeeze in a performance with WordTheatre on 25 October!

Damien's former BH director Daniel O'Hara was the block 1 director, Jon Wright block 2 - if it's the same Jon Wright, he also directed on 'Our Girl' (with Michelle K).

First time I saw Damien, in Being Human (a few months ago) I thought he was English with the accent, how thrilled was I when I heard his actual voice. It's funny that everything I've seen him in since he has had an Irish accent.

Ellie, Liverpool FC had a Danish player in the 80/90s called Jan Molby who had a strange mix of a Danish/Scouse accent.

I remember Joseph Gilgun in Corrie as Little Jamie Armstrong.

I remember Joe Gilgun as Eli Dingle in Emmerdale, Dingleannie. He got into all sorts of trouble with the original Priya Sharma.
I must try to remember he's all grown up now and is Joseph not Joe! Still catches me out every time I see the words 'Joseph Gilgun' on Preacher!

Block 2 read throughs are a go!

There are 6 episodes, I'm curious to know if they shoot in chronological order? I'm sure it is not that simple!

Nah Ellie, he's still Joe - at least that's how he is named on the Brassic scripts! (see my last post.)

Dingleannie, Oh how wonderful you only discovered Being Human a few months ago! giddy Damien's Hal is utterly captivating and his accent is impeccable right? Such a great take on a pompous english accent! blood

I remember JG from Misfits, his natural accent methinks?

I love Hal, it's hard to choose between Hal and Jack Weston has my favourite character Damien has played.

Never watched Emmerdale, but enjoyed JG in Misfits and This England.

I'm watching Misfits while I'm typing this, my favourite character is Simon (Iwan Rheon) I loved Simon which is weird as he also played Ramsay Bolton (GOT) who I hated so much, about the same hate I felt for Joffrey and Sir Alliser Thorne.

I wouldn't believe anyone who said they resisted the urge Ellie!

It must be hard work but great fun on this set! action

There are lots of Brassic filming photos on Shutterstock, for press/editorial use, including ones we have already seen. No new ones of Damien, but great to see his co-stars and that Dominic West has joined the cast!

More filming photos from the Mail Online, Michelle Keegan, Joe Gilgun and other cast and crew ,but no Damien unfortunately.

However, there are a couple of plot spoilers, so don't read if you don't want them!

Michelle Keegan cuts a glam figure as she braves the cold in quilted parka jacket to take a phone call on set of new comedy series Brassic

Spoiler

Spoiler

Maybe the ice cream van is there for refreshment and the police van for security?

His latest instagram Story (self destructs after 24 hours)

brassicdamieninsta1.jpg

This is 'concrete' evidence that he is still filming for Brassic...

and this image is now 'cemented' in my mind... ()

Wonder what they are filming?!?

There is no air date yet Ann, just that it will be airing in 2019. it would have to be a very first post production for it to be the beginning of the year, so spring or later probably.

If it's spring then it might be on the same time as Game of Thrones. New Damien stuff and Game of Thrones for me that is just awesome.

Just me, or is anyone else curious about that Instagram photo Damien shared? cool

It looks like cement on his hands, and there is that concrete floor... and reading this part of the official synopsis again:

"These lads have dealt, scammed, bribed and conned their way through adolescence, but now, on the brink of adulthood, their dealing and stealing is catching up with them and a whole load of trouble is heading their way. Like a carefully stacked tower of cards, what happens if one of them is knocked down or, worse, removed from the pack entirely?"

I wonder just what they've buried under that concrete!?! hide

Wasn't someone buried under the patio in Brookside.

Re. the synopsis, ..but now, on the brink of adulthood...I know Damien can play younger than his real age, but can he play someone "on the brink of adulthood", Same with the rest of the cast.

Ha yes! Over 20 years ago and still one of the most chilling tv storylines ever! the synopsis doesn't really suggest the gang are full on criminals.. or murderers! hide but I must admit the body buried under the concrete thought did flash through my mind, maybe Brookside is to blame! But also there are a number of things that could be stashed and hidden that way... or maybe building is just Dylan's day job!

Damien looks super young for his age, and has played lots of characters in their twenties... besides we all know that the male of the species reach adulthood far later than the legal age.. *ducks* hide
