Damien was back in his home land today when he attended the Sky Ireland 2019 Content Showcase to talk about Brassic.
Our fave actor was one of a line-up of ‘Sky stars’ who presented their upcoming shows on group panels at the event, held at The Westbury Hotel in Dublin.
.@SkyIreland have an impressive schedule of lavish dramas, dark comedies and entertainment shows lined up for 2019. Read our coverage of their launch here:https://t.co/WrRfyQm9XX
In their coverage of the launch, Hotpress magazine reported Damien giving the “down low” on his upcoming comedy drama, although no more specific details have been revealed about the series yet.
However, we did learn something new – The Effect.net shared the news that Brassic is set for an autumn air date, although this has not been officially confirmed and rumours elsewhere have suggested the summer.
We are also excited to hear a little more from Damien about his character Dylan, as reported by Her.ie:
Dylan is the brains of the gang so he’s kind-of smart enough to see the flaws in all their crazy money-making schemes. And you know, the great tragedy for Dylan really is because he is the brightest of the bunch, he doesn’t really have any ambition to do anything with his intelligence”.
Damien will play a leading role in the sky comedy alongside Michelle Keegan and Joe Gilgun and it is great to see him in the limelight as the only cast member representing the show at the Irish event.
Brassic will contain six episodes and reach audiences in the UK and Ireland on Sky and NOW TV in the UK & Ireland, with international distribution via ITV Studios Global Entertainment.
Really exciting seeing this today! Love how Damien is the only cast member representing 'Brassic' and very much enjoying all the photos
Nice little insight from Damien about his character:
Dylan is the brains of the gang so he’s kind-of smart enough to see the flaws in all their crazy money-making schemes. And you know, the great tragedy for Dylan really is because he is the brightest of the bunch, he doesn’t really have any ambition to do anything with his intelligence”.
Interesting about the Autumn air date, I have read summer elsewhere. Either are too far away, I am bursting to see this! Hopefully we will have some clarification soon.
Autumn is ages away, but it could be better than a summer release - if the weather is good people tend to go outside rather than stay indoors and watch tv.
It's too far away in either case!
Now that we know it has complete post-production, it would be a scheduling thing if it was autumn. It's all about Curfew on Sky at the moment, so maybe Brassic will be the next big show? Just speculating here
