GameFace Series 2 premieres 10 pm Wednesday 17 July on Channel 4!
Like the first series, the second will comprise 6 episodes.
The trailer features Damien reprising his role as Jon, the ever patient driving instructor, alongside all the characters we came to know and love in series 1 – Marcella (Roisin Conaty) the lead character of the show, her therapist (Karl Theobold), flat mates Caroline (Caroline Ginty) and Lucy (Nina Toussaint-White), brother Billy (Dylan Edwards), Mum (Pauline McLynn), ex Simon (Dustin Demri-Burns), Tania (Tiff Stevenson), neighbour Linda (Llewella Gideon) and new characters to be introduced in the new series.
This thrilling first glimpse at the series includes what appears to be a daydream sequence for Marcella, with Damien in a white suit, dancing, and a classic Joncella door step exchange.
An episode guide for the opening instalment of the new series has also been released. For all the details read on, to avoid all spoilers look away now!
Marcella takes her driving test and goes on a date with her driving instructor Jon, while Linda tells her neighbour she is being followed. She also continues her life-coaching sessions with her therapist and his student, visits her mum and finds her ex Simon in a compromising position. Return of the comedy, starring Roisin Conaty, with Damien Molony and Pauline McLynn.
We’ve wondered, imagined and speculated where things will pick up for Marcella and Jon / Joncella after the end of series 1, and now we are finally about to find out what happens next!
Is anyone else constantly watching Channel 4 for a peek of the trailer? There are different ones / variations being shown! Yesterday I caught one with Marcella's therapist doing an impression of parking a car and saying "Lets park Jon a minute" (or something like) so funny! But also I'm shouting at the screen "No let's never park Jon, not even for even a minute!"
I'm so glad there are going to be more crazy Marcella costumes this series! I'm also glad to see that the therapist is still so out there! The parking thing was hilarious, real commitment to the metaphor there!
The scene with Jon in the white suit surrounded by all the women looks so intriguing. Marcella's daydreams are brilliant.
Going on the quality of the trailers this looks like it's going to be another fantastic series.
It does look epic doesn't it Rosie! I get the feeling that series 2 is going to be even better (if that is possible).
I'm going to have to make sure I'm not drinking a cuppa or anything during that scene when Marcella is the green monster, no matter how many times I watch that in the trailer I lose it!
From the trailer and the the details we have seen about series 2, there will be more brilliant costumes and roles for Marcella in this series. I'm glad Damien gets to play dress up a bit too - in that dream scene (which I think comes in episode 2.)
