Perhaps it is a grower rather than a show-er Lisa?

I've been listening to Babel by Mumford & Sons. I don't like it as much as Sigh No More, but it's good. More American folk rock than English. Felt very Bruce Spingsteen-ish at times.

Domino: the best albums usually are. If i get into an album immediately then slowly over time i grow tired of it. Sometimes i click and click big time, i did that with both Seether and The Black Keys recently.

I've never really listened to Mumford & Sons, i've heard brief clips but it didn't really make an impact on me. I do love Matchbox Twenty and their new album 'North' is very good- a track from it 'Get Your Hands Up' is a big favourite, very funky. I've been a huge fan of the band for twelve years now.

Sometimes a song doesn't click with me until it's given a different context, like on a soundtrack. I've had that with Mumford & Sons Sigh No More. Love that song now.

Songs I really love off of Muse's new album (the 2nd Law) are Panic Station, Animals and Liquid State, songs I don't really like are Follow Me and Survival, the rest are in between. So pretty decent album!

I really love this song right now:

So UK X-Factor winner James Arthur is following the forum account on twitter, which was a surprise as I am not following him! maybe he is a DaMo fan! Anyway, He was a bit good on the Xfactor and I do like his voice, my fave performance of his was this  (I feel old too remembering this the first time around with Frankie Goes To Hollywood!):

(Come to think of it, maybe I should follow him back)

This appears to be an old thread but I just found it since Domino reorganized. I love finding out what people are listening to. I don't listend to the radio (only NPR) because I can't stand most Top 40 music, and don't have a lot of free time to listen to Spotify and the like so I'm always glad to come across new music that doesn't suck.

I listen to a lot of different types of music: goth, industrial, EBM, rockabilly, classic country, 80's new wave, 90's alternative, blues, and folk...that's off the top of my head.

I see a bunch of Muse posts. I'm not sure if I've heard them before or not. I think I keep getting them confused with Faith and the Muse. I really like what I heard down there in earlier posts. I'll have to look them up.

I've been listening to a lot of the Carolina Chocolate Drops. They're a Grammy award winning folk band from my state (North Carolina). The female lead singer is from my home town. They do a lot of traditional old-time music (with American and British roots)  and also rework some more popular music. All are multi-instrumentalists.  Between them they play fiddle, banjo, guitar, cello, mandolin, bones, jug, harmonica, snare drum, kazoo, and quills (panpipe).

Some of my other favorites right now are Imelda May and Lisa Hannigan.

I also recently ran across this band which I think is very unique:

]

Some of my favorite bands that I might not be listening to currently but are always with me: Tears for Fears, Dead Can Dance, Joy Division, Lush, Curve, Massive Attack, The Sundays, Morrissey/The Smiths, Echo and The Bunny Men, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Tool, Tori Amos, Depeche Mode, Imelda May, Lisa Hannigan, Bruce Springsteen, George Michael, Waylon Jennings, Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Lilly Allen, U2, Sinead O'Connor, Sade, Ministry, Covenant, Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine, Straight 8's (fantastic local rockabilly band) & My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult.

Lately I have been listening to this lovely song written by Tony Hatch and Tim Holder. It is the anthem for World Hunger Day and you can download it on Sunday 27 May for World Hunger Day on 28 May, for the princely sum of 99p. It is being released globally.

It features Dionne Warwick and my favourite, Joe McElderry, including the London City Gospel Choir, the choir of Woodbridge School and the South Bank Sinfonia.

Same here now that a BH S5 fan video was made to it. Also like 'Lost Cause' by them.

The Being Human S3 sound track is a must too. I utterly adore it, i'm developing an appreciation of string music, violing and especially cello and there is so much of both on this album. The tracks are beautiful, poignant and so atmospheric. Really hoping for a soundtrack to series 4 and 5.

That is a bit heavy for me! Sorry. Did you listen to the World Hunger song? What did you think?

@ Pearl - It's kind of like We Are The World without all of the celebrities.

I do that too Kayla. I'll go through stages where I only want to listen to Industrial and other rock alternatives to only listening to folk and country, etc.  Though I've never been one for metal with the exception of a select few bands.

I prefer it with a smaller amount of "celebrities". Nice to see the London City Gospel Choir and Woodbridge School Choir singing alongside the legend that is Dionne Warwick! Not to mention Joe of course.

I'm probably behind since one of their songs has been in an ipod commercial, but I just discovered this band and I'm impressed.
