This is true Rosie, but we are getting 2 series a year!

Ok so if we were given the option between 1 series a year with 8 episodes or 2 series a year with 4 - What would we choose?

For me it would definitely be the latter!

But we really aren't getting 2 series.  4 episodes are not a true series. 6 barely qualifies. We're getting half a series twice a year, without a unifying story arc. I would much prefer one longer series that had continuity, aired at a predictably same time each year.  But maybe that's just the American in me...

Wow.. lots of glass half full thinking (not) going on here! hide

I'd still prefer 2 series of 4 episodes per year, than one series of 8 episodes. Or if you want to get into semantics I would prefer an 8 episode series divided into 2 in 1 year! Most UK TV shows get an 8 ep series if they are very lucky, per year. 

And we are getting more next year, so I am very happy about that!

Jack always leaves us wanting more!

I think that it was all the ups and downs with Channel 5 this year has left a feeling of not knowing what the channel is doing with Suspects. It deserves better than being pushed and shoved around the schedules. The fact that we all want more episodes of Suspects is surely testament to how good we all think it is rather than negative thinking.

yes I do agree with the frustration about scheduling, like, totally! And it absolutely goes without saying, there can never be enough Damo on the telly!

4 eps in a series really doesn't seem enough.  But I have to agree with domino - I think I'd prefer to have 8 eps a year divided into 2 series, than one hit of 8 eps.  I have wondered whether the short series are the result of deciding that the original filming schedule for s1 was too long for what must be such an intense, full on way to produce a programme.  I guess it's a bit too much to hope that s5 will air at the start of the year (as it has in previous years) but I hope that we don't have to wait any longer than the summer.....hopefully we'll find out at the end of this series - although I don't know if any of us will believe it even if they do make an announcement!

And then they can film s6 in the summer to air sometime next winter..... biggrin

Well, we all know who will be making the tea in the office...

The 6 episodes info has been up a while, but as past experience shows, that is not a guarantee the series will contain all 6.. fingers crossed!

Ooooooh!  This is awesome!  And I think this will bump up interest in Suspects from people that didn't give it a try or lost interest. The fact that she's a DS like Jack is interesting.  Yes, what will be the dynamic???  Hopefully they won't keep us waiting too long...
